^^^my second oldest son has a 1996 2dr 5 speed. He left in back in Alberta when we moved. It’s so rusty, when he locked the keys in it he was able to reach his arm through the floorboards and unlock it. Oh, and it reads 67x,xxx something km. The old fella he bought it off said the motor was original still. He likes to beat around grandpas hay fields whenever he gets a chance.

If today's standards allowed Stellantis to re-pop these as-is, they'd have a hit on their hands. Or ... maybe not. Z's want screens and stuff.

A good friend back in my university days had another rare example; a 99 sport, exactly the same colors as the one Rev posted, but 2-dr and a 5-sp manual...Aside from the Sport appearance stuff (5-spoke alloys, black trim, etc...exactly like Rev's) it was bare bones; manual windows, no cruise, etc. He rescued it from a scrapyard with around 300K on it, repaired whatever mechanical issue had sent it there, and drove it for years....He had a gig as a process-server and drove the Jeep everywhere. It had upwards of 500K when he finally replaced it a few years back. I bet it's still on the road somewhere.

I had a similar XJ. '99 two door five speed that I bought back in 2009, but mine had most of the options like cruise and power windows/locks/mirrors. It was a fun little truck. Only had it for a year and then someone hit me in an intersection and it got written off. Was starting to rust anyways but I was still sad to see it go. The insurance gave me basically what I paid for it.

I just love buying these Grandpa owned trucks. Could do without the chrome, but this thing is a pin. This series GM truck ride was beautiful, comfy seats, and super reliable. Most are rusted out now and finding clean examples is getting difficult.

That's a beautiful truck, peak 1/2 ton period. Body looks unbelievably clean, how many kms on it?

Has 192k. Started life in Florida. It’s very clean, also a fully optioned trim. My wife thought I was insane for paying what I did for it as the same day I paid less for a 2014 F150.  But they don’t come this clean often and I know there’s a buyer for it. These trucks have a great reputation.

Yeah, you'll have no issue selling that. The market is starting to recognize these trucks and values, and interest, is on the upswing.
I've seen a lot of clean ones around here, but they move quick, and for strong $.

And I just picked up a 2001 Silverado regular cab shortbed 4x4. That’s a hard combination to find, especially with the “big” 5.3 V8. I’ll post pics of that one soon.

I do like this body style.

The 5.3 wasn't available with a manual in the GMT800, just the 4.3 and 5.0.

Thinking you meant to say '6.0'? You could get the 6.0L with the nv4500 manual, 2500 and *maybe* in the 1500HD.

My son has a 1500HD with a 6.0L and 5spd manual.
