Bought a 2006 Escalade ESV. The brake calipers were red and had drilled rotors. Figured someone just did the tacky thing and painted them and threw a cheapo set of auto shack rotors on. Swapping wheels out today (ditching the black wheels) and it actually has Bahr brakes all around. Nice upgrade and fairly pricey one at that.

Nice! Everything looks pretty new there actually; shock, the hub assembly (based on the little bit that's visible), even the little jounce bumper thing isn't compressed. Someone loved it.

Yes definitely was well loved. It also has a nice borla exhaust, intake, full weathertech set, and is generally very clean. The part I don’t like is the lowering kit, but it does seem to handle a bit better than a stock GMT800 SUV and still has its factory ride control. I’ve ditched these black wheels and made my own “Cadillac” wheels out of my 20” Chevy rims.

Nice job on the wheels! Good looking truck too, could be my truck's ESV twin. I don't like the lowered stance either, but it looks very rust free, which never happens around here anymore. ESVs tend to rust worse even because for some reason I never understood, the fenders and flares/cladding are all metal whereas the SWB Escalade has plastic fender flares and cladding...even though it's the same style as the ESV, it's very odd.

I never knew that. That is strange. Now that I think of it all the ESV’s I see have rusty rocker panels (especially near the rear door) and usually rusty by the tailpipe. In typical west coast fashion this truck is entirely rust free. Just have some chips and scuffs on the bumpers that I’m finding impossible to get matching touch up for.

Yeah, the rockers go on all of them...even the SWB examples have the visible steel rocker. My brother has a 03 that spent it's life in SW Ontario and he's patched the rocker 2 or 3 times now. Mine was a Northern Alberta truck, and I've oiled the heck out of it, so it's survived well. But you'll never *see* a SWB GMT800 with rusty fenders cuz it's covered by the plastic cladding.

ESVs, and EXTs with the full-steel fenders all look like this around here now. Sad.

As for touch up, you can't really match it. If memory serves this white is called Diamond Tri-coat...It's a 3 stage deal; there's a base white + pearl + clear.

Yikes that ones ugly!  Makes me think I should hang on to this ESV for a while. I picked this 05 Sierra up from Vancouver and it has no fender flares and is 100% rust free (even the rockers are spotless). Must be getting harder to find nice ones west of BC!

GM sold me a touch up pen that has a base and a pearl clear. It matches great until the sun hits it then it’s WAY off.

If your truck looks like that, you've got much bigger problems than rusty rocker panels  :rofl2:

Damn! Some guys have all the luck.  >:(

That truck would get good money, anywhere now I'd bet.  Real good money.  And I love the Riv. Which engine's in it?  Is it as nice as it looks or is it nice on pics but not so nice in person?

It’s actually not a 20 footer. Unbelievable how clean the paint and body came considering it sat under some  pine trees for the past 30 years. Sap, sap, and more sap! I’m still sticky! Bet I vacuumed 50 lbs of needles from all the crevices. Maybe those needles protected it? The trees did keep the car dry. Having a good look underneath tomorrow but my early peak is reassuring, looks very good (trunk pans, rockers, floorboards etc)

Sap!  A new kind of paint protection.

I'm looking forward to more pics and details...vicarious living through the Rev.

This one sold for only $9100 last year - so I'll have to offer you $3-3500 for yours.  I mean if this is the BaT price...and it looks minty mint... :P  ;D  ;)
