Rev's ongoing buy/sell thread

Haven’t posted this one yet. Got it in December parked it all winter. just got the nicer wheels and tires on today and went for a ride.

It’s a pretty basic old Chevy truck. What’s special is under the hood. It has a LS swap with a 5 speed manual. It’s nice and peppy and sounds great. Really good on fuel too.

Oh baby that's nice! Please remove that light bar from the front bumper though, otherwise that is a gorgeous example of a clean, basic GM truck. I've been watching the market on OBS trucks take off, I'd really like to add a late OBS 4x4 ext cab truck to the fleet, but don't have the parking right now until I get rid of some of the other projects.

And another one......

The deals on these old trade ins are too tempting. This is a Grandmas bingo cruiser (with a side of sporty)1994 Oldsmobile Achieva SC. Never was a popular car and 2 doors are even harder to find. This is quite rare with leather seats. It has the ubiquitous GM 3.1 V6. Ugly, but you sure don’t see these very often. Same as a grand am which sold 4x as many units per year.

I absolutely love the condition these west coast cars are in.

Yeah, that Achieva is fantastic, I actually really like it. I used to work with a guy that was an 'Achieve Enthusiast', he owned a blue 4-door at the time but was obsessive about Achievas. He's lose his mind over that car.

Good heavens I thought I had strange taste in cars lol. Achieva enthusiasts must be very few and far between. There is the rather collectible SCX edition, but outside those these we mostly Avis rentals.

That's in great condition.

Thanks! It’s not too bad for 26 yrs old. I might see what it’s cost to get a collector plate, I hear they’re only a few hundred a year to insure here.

Lol, I sent these photos to him cuz I don't think there's anyone that would appreciate this car as much as he would.

Lots of Achievas still competing in NHRA Super Stock.  Converted to RWD, of course.

Man Rev I love your minty old car finds. I have no interest in that Achieva but man do I appreciate mint, old, regular used cars. I remember seeing them growing up.

But is that an urban Achieva?

Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach the man to fish and he wakes you up at 5 in the morning.

The SC with the Quad 4/manual combo was well reviewed in its time as well.

As a 12 year old kid I thought it was fascinating that the SC came with 16" wheels but that the better SCX came with 14s.  ;D

Got tired of doing dump and hardware store runs with a big 3/4 ton diesel and started looking for a little beater truck which ideally would be equipped with a topper. Found this 91 Chevy S10 4x4 on Facebook. It’s got the throttle body 4.3 V6, was pretty fancy back in its day with a factory digital dash (which only half works) and car phone lol. Anyway, for $450 I can’t complain, it runs and drives and will do the dirty farm work as needed. Was a huge bonus I found a 4x4.

I bought new a '88 GMC Jimmy with V6 4.3L 4AT.

Its fuel economy by my standard, was a pig but nothing close to my BIL older full size pick-up V8 350CI (5.7L) 4carb. A year later I traded-in with a '89 VW Jetta TDI  :P .

The Jimmy's transmission was chasing/hesitating between Overdrive and Drive @ 100 km/h when slightly press the accelerator or only to keep going steady on small slope, always seem to pick the wrong gear, I had to force it to Drive position to stop chasing between OD & D. I hope they fixed it later but for the usage your are intended with your S-10,  it shouldn't be a problem, this 4.3L pull strong but is thirsty (IIRC, this V6 block & pistons was chopped from their V8 5.7L ...). Enjoy!
