I’ve driven it 800km so far. Got a chance to give it a wax job today. Turned out ok. Also treated the leather seats, hard to make 35yr old leather look good but they turned out decent. Next up, detailing the engine compartment.

That looks awesome.  If I win the lottery, may I buy it from you?   :flowers:

I love it - I'm sure that Chrysler was inspired by the original SAAB 900.

Sold in Europe as the Chrysler GTS (Belgian plates on this one).

Cool, never knew they sold these overseas. They were a short run, only sold here from 85-89, then the Acclaim and Spirit came out and Chrysler had overlapping models.

Fantastic! What a commitment to red by Chrysler.
I love it when a plan comes together.

Rev's ongoing buy/sell thread

Took a trip to Vancouver via a rental car to retrieve a 2016 Silverado I bought last week. My son came with to get a small break from staying planted at home. Anyway, get to my truck and the thing has no power steering. This was inspected post sale and no defects were found. Seller (a smaller auction) apologized and a fix is underway, but we need something to drive home now.

Off to the big dealer auction. It’s a ghost town there, usually a very busy place had maybe a half dozen workers. I’m not spending big money on anything right now with the uncertain economy (the Silverado is going to the states and pre sold) so I’m after something cheap.

We end up with this 99 Sienna for a wallet busting $367 after all the taxes and fees, the actual selling price was $100! Fresh big franchise dealer trade in. 340,000k and runs great. Tag on the engine says the timing belt was done at 286k so this little Toyota should be happy for a bit. Quite obvious it was well loved and in typical Vancouver fashion totally rust free. Drives really well but has a clunk from the rear, the left rear shock bushing is done. Other than that the van preformed flawlessly on the trip home.

Decided I’m definitely going to keep it. Since we moved to BC we’ve been missing our “second” family rig. In Alberta we had the 650,000km 2007 Caravan, still have it sitting in AB but there’s no way I’m putting it through the provincial inspection needed to plate it in BC. This Sienna will be a welcome addition to the fam.

I’m always happy to get a good running beater for Uber cheap!

One of my sisters had one of those, eventually they traded it off on a newer Sienna, mostly because the door mechanisms were all screwing up, likely a lot to do with rough treatment by her offspring. What really impressed my sister was that the drivetrain always worked, never stranded them, super important for a mother with little kids

And yeah, I believe it was the same colour

Did you end up selling that Tundra?

Haven't tried to sell it yet.

Just curious, how much would you be looking to get for the Tundra?

My boss still needs a new truck, and he's a cheapskate.  I've tried to sell him on a new Tundra, and even a moderately used one, but no go.

There was a white one at the sale as well, very rare!

I have Tundra listed for $8500 locally. The response so far has been better than I expected, have a few appointments lined up to look.

My parents had a '98 Sienna CE base, no cruise no power locks mirrors windows, but had rear HVAC and double sliding doors. It was rock solid. And it was denim blue.  :P

I remember the ABS was very loud (made a bunch of binging noises when activated) and the headlights being terrible.

It looked like this:

Those Sienna's were super popular in my area in the mid/late-2000's when I was working in the Drive Clean Emissions shop. Catalytic converters were almost always questionable, so they'd fail more often than not, but then we realized that kicking them out of the test and running the :censor: out of them on the dyno would heat up the Cat enough that they'd pass.

I used to cringe everytime I saw one roll up to the shop.

Actually, there are still a lot of these on the road around here. I think there's even one that lives across the street from me, in that teal/tan two-tone.

You mean silver spruce? A classic Sienna color, those used to be everywhere.
