Rev's ongoing buy/sell thread
« on: December 16, 2016, 09:54:18 pm »
Figure since I'm constantly buying/selling I'd post up some of the more interesting vehicles that grace my driveway. I'm a huge sucker for 70's-80's Detroit iron and Imports too. I love finding these low mile "Grandma" cars. These type of cars are certainly not for everyone (picturing my Wifes look of disgust with most of my finds) The bulk of my business is buying later model trucks/suv's for US export, those are boring, I do happen to find time for this odd stuff I find at auctions or through dealership trade-ins.

I'll kick it off with one I got in today. It's for Winklovic lol.

1994 Plymouth Acclaim, it has 71,000 kms, 2.5 4cyl, auto. A Grandma car, the seats had blankets on them, carpets covering the factory carpet, and those little lace doilies on the rear parcel shelf. I'm quite amazed at how tight this car is, thinking it's K-car roots would give a jittery, rattley ride this car impresses with its tight body with no rattles, creeks, or old age groans at all. Seems to be very well looked after. These things were dirt cheap when new, they must have been a fairly decent family sedan back then. It's amazing how much rear legroom this car has!

This on I had this past summer. My US buyer came here and had to have this car, it lives in Kansas now. It was a 2002 Buick Regal GS with 56,000 km. It was the supercharged model too, beauty of a car, truly mint in and out.

Had this one for a few years now. 1993 Cavalier with 15,700 actual kms. I dont think its ever seen a winter. Story was it belonged to a couple from Edmonton, they bought it new and drove it to their winter property in Oregon. Made its way home again and now i own it! It\s like new in and out.

This little Ford Probe only had 60,000 km, a fun car with the 3.0 V6/5 speed. Kinda liked it lol.

Ohhhhh, baby!  Thanks for posting.  That Acclaim looks wonderful.  My Grandparents did something similar with the Volare they purchased and I later bought from Grandma: they covered the cloth seats with seat covers.  When I finally took the seat covers off, around when the car was 14 years old, the seats were immaculate.

Cool thread!  My father was a dealer in his retirement years, so this brings back some memories.

I do have an Audi thread in show and shine, but here it is again! It's a 1980 5000 Turbo, sat since 1982 in a underground parking stall. Was sold in 2010 to a transmission shop owner in Calgary, I got it through him. It still has 3 of its original Goodyear NTC tires on it (fourth is in the trunk) Has 31000 miles, Only low mileage/use car I've owned that had seal deterioration. I've replaced several and it still needs a turbo overhaul to be perfect. I'd guess it's pretty rare, these cars disintegrated with rust quickly, this is the only 5000 from this era I recall seeing since maybe the 1990's.

The day I brought my 1970 Eldorado home, remember well the fight to get that thing on the gooseneck trailer, low and long don't play well when loading lol . My first Ebay buy lol. Was a super cool cruiser, didn't keep it long as it was an electrical nightmare. Still....wish I'd have kept it.Many more pics of it on a SD card somewhere......

Long lost picture of my favorite truck. A 2000 short box crew cab with a 454 in it. Got nearly 10 mpg with a tailwind!

This car I've owned the longest of any vehicle in my life, about 11 years now. It's been sitting at my Dads in the field behind the barn since the pos quit on me driving down the highway about 5 summers ago, I need to regain interest in it, always had issues after a new turbo/head gasket job. Chryslers vacuum system sucks and is a big reason it's running poorly. I'm the second owner, the first babied this car (was his first new car) and drove it, has over 400,000 kms on it.
