This one in our neighborhood. Someone even survived an accident in it!

The horror!  How did they ever make it out alive?  Surely they're a quadriplegic now?

^^ Those are the alloys my Dad's van had. This one is a safety inspection from the scrapper. No impact bumper means bent frame and probably interesting on-road dynamics...

Based on all those crash videos I would have to surmise that all that van hit was a cat...I bet the cat walked away.  The van, she is totalled.

My wife survived an accident in her parent's Astro.....she thought it was in reverse but was in drive, right through the steps from their garage going into the house!

i do get it...you were pointing out vehicles that scored poorly in crash tests, then mentioned you'll stick with your Mazda 5...i simply said it isn't very good either...you then said my Rio was a death trap to which i showed it still scored better than the Mazda 5.

odd about the Accent though, it's basically the same car.

Ok fine. Tell me a newer safer 6 seater manual car that has auto climate control, rain sensing wipers, and automatic lights I can get today. You can respond to me in never.

Ummm, the Mercedes E class wagon...think even up to the proper, big boy AMG, has the third row seats.

You're correct up until model year 2020. Now, with the facelift for 2021, the E-Class All-Terrain is the only one that offers the third row. The regular non-AMG E Wagon is actually discontinued and the AMG E 53 and E 63 models don't get the back seats.

No manual transmission. Yes I need my manual, it's the only way I don't hate Edmonton completely in the winter.

My second oldest boy (just turned 20 this week) was looking for a project to tinker with this summer. We found this 1992 Explorer, same owner since 93. What makes it somewhat unique is it’s a 5 speed manual. We got it for $700, the tires are new and it runs great so think it was a buy. Just don’t look to carefully at the rocker panel’s, they are nearly gone. Good news is $60 buys new rockers and we have a welder! Kinda fun to drive a manual SUV.

Nice. The new tires probably cost more than he paid so hard to lose on that one. The 5spd is icing on the cake. Actually it might what kept it alive as the classifieds used to full of nice Explorers with dead automatic transmissions.

Wow, that is cool! Can't remember the last time I saw one of those.

I actually saw a first-generation Windstar today and did a double-take as well...

Long forgotten about. The rather unsuccessful remake of the Monte Carlo. This 95 Z34 has 144k. Took a trip to Vancouver today to fetch it. Feels like a big, heavy car, has a somewhat floaty feel. A nice highway cruiser. Went up the Coquihalla without a fuss. Someone loved it and did a great job looking after it. Even has a recent timing belt service which for this engine is not a cheap job.

Appears to share the design language of the same era’s Lumina.
Yeah my grand parents had that generation Lumina and it was as a very good GM sedan.  I think they had it for over 8 years and didn’t run into any issues.  Do you know if it’s the same platform and power train?

Hey Rev if you ever come across a early 90’s Chevy Chevalier 2 door V6 manual in decent shape I’ll but it from you.  It was my wife’s first vehicle so it would be a great throw back gift for her.  She loved that vehicle.

I owned a blue 1988 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24, V6 2.8L 5 speed man posted here. Later, I believe came with V6 3.1L instead.

Edit: fixed my stupid typo, 4 instead of 5 speed manual  :-X

Hers had the 3.1 and was not a Z24...I think, didn’t have any decals stating it was.

I would bet a RS maybe, IIRC?

Maybe, she always said it had an upgraded suspension, so if that model had that then it likely was an RS.
