Nice to hear from you mmret.

I also hate Honda brakes - every one of our Honda/Acura products in my family had brake issues. Toyota, BMW have strong brakes with longer longevity.

Well it got fixed, the bill came out to 14k or so. Got it back about 3 months ago.

Recently the front brakes started clunking.

Today the transmission waved the flag.

Transmission somehow also took out the blindspot and parking sensors and the 360 camera.

What a pile of :censor:.

Has 92k on it. Trans fluid is item 3 on the maintenance minder, never came up.

Ouch!  :(   Is that re: the MDX?

What had taken 14k to fix?

OK, I'm confused. No posts in the thread for over two years and then this?   Got it back from having what done?  What cost 14K?   ???  Transmission?

That's a 2017 MDX dash, so I'm assuming he's referring to the Acura.

Wasn’t it in an accident?  I’m guessing that’s the 14k.

Great post though  :rofl2:

^Is the tranny failed or is it acting up or is it  a code only?  Details matter

'17 MDX should be the ZF 9-speed. I believe they have a longer service interval compared to the previous 6-speed. I think around 100,000 km or so. Might be why you haven't gotten the maintenance code for it yet. They need a specific fluid too which is expensive.

Hooked up OBD2 scanner. Says no codes.

OBD scanner seems to work since it does show live data from the engine and so on.

Dash warnings are still on.

Bizzare.

How long did it take to get the accident damage fixed? Did the car sit outdoors, undriven, for that long? Might explain the brake sounds.

Car took ages to get fixed but when we got it back the brakes were fine. Only started happening recently with the warmer weather.

Bizzare.

Might be a low battery voltage issue.

Take it to the Acura Dealer and get the tranny reflashed.  2017 MDXs still had ZF electronic issues.

Brakes not a strong point in that series MDX.

So is the story about the accident in another thread?

Glad I am not the only one confused here. ??? ??? I do not understand. Is this a tranny issue that was fixed or an accident repair. When I first saw message that it was fixed at a cost of $14K I scrolled through all 7 pages of posting to try and figure out what went wrong. There was some previous complaints of funny shifts so I was left to assume that the tranny finally failed. But now talk of accident. What is this all about???

There was an accident but that is another thread.

Anyways last night after I got home it would refuse to shift into Reverse which was bothersome.

However this morning the errors magically went away and it drives fine. ???
