Yeah, I was signed in under Ikea Family.  I must just live too far from a store or shippging centre?

I ended up paying $49 for shipping for one item where the 15% discount exceeded what I was spending on shipping, so no point in waiting until I can make it to the Halifax store in person.  Besides, I can on transport so much in one trip....

Freaking mouth breathing, inbred, slack jawed steering wheel holders keep slamming into the LRT train. Its hilarious, but I imagine the delays and repair costs are adding up quickly. Maybe its just me, but if you drive/walk into a train, it should automatically be your fault 100% and it should severely affect your licence. They keep whinning that there are no crossing arms, but there are no right on reds and stop lights, that should be more than enough. I'm so sick and tired of people making all sorts of excuses for these ice cream enthusiasts as well, they hit a train, its their bloody fault all the way.
Lighten up Francis.....

Stopped at a brewery for lunch on my way home. Sat outside despite it being a little chilly but still not cold yet. Probably 16 tables, only me and another guy who is sitting at the other side. A group of 4 comes in, picks the closest table right beside me. They had 14 other choices, could have even given the courtesy leave a table between but nope. Why do people need to be so close? Is it just me that goes out of their way to NOT sit beside other people?

Generally speaking, most people are completely oblivious to anyone outside their orbit.

My wife tends to do that, drives me nuts. Same with parking. Empty parking lot and she'll try and park right beside the one other vehicle there.

Not sure why, she can't really explain it

Is it just me that goes out of their way to NOT sit beside other people?

When IQ and I go to a restaurant, 100 percent of the time we say "As far away from children as possible, please."

How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

We do the same.  Nothing ruins a nice meal than a kid having a tantrum at the table beside you.

Most of the restaurants we go to don't usually have kids.

A few months we went to a local pub for lunch on a weekend. This particular place has a few booths in a front room by the bar, and then a big, open dining area in the back. Of course the hostess sits us in the back near the only occupied table with kids, even though there were multiple booths open.

That's a different kind of noise to kids.  I don't mind a crew of grownups have a good time, within reason of course, as long as they aren't yelling and trying to start fights and what not.  But big laughs and having a good time is truly what having a fun evening out is all about with a group of friends.

We take our kids (8 and 10) to restaurants all the time....they are very well behaved...always have been.  I've noticed the tables with irritating kids usually have parents that look defeated, checked out, and staring at their phones and ignoring the kids.  It's not rocket science...pay attention to your kids, keep the behaviour in check, or don't bring them. FFS

Also, I would never be offended if a hostess placed us well away from other tables, couples, people on a date night, etc.  Totally get that a lot of young families are not ideal guests.  Without knowing us, I wouldn't want to sit beside us either  :rofl2:

I see you haven't met Gurgies friends!

Kids at a restaurant generally doesn't bother me. Probably because it's not my problem and I figure the parents are having a harder time with it than I am.

Ya, they'd likely irritate me.

But I presume this isn't at a "nice" restaurant, where my expectations of behavior vary.

Yeah, it's a pub, no tablecloths or candles. We usually roll in around 6:45pm & have a table reserved for us.

My only issue with pubs is live music, like unexpected live music. A group of people laughing and carrying on is one thing, any kind of out of tune rendition of Barrets Privateers at full volume....I'm out.

Well I don't think there's much expectation of "quiet" at a pub so that's different IMO

Our dryer just kicked the bucket and damn near became a house fire.  I’ve replaced the belt and bearings twice to keep it going but this time the coil/elements were broken off in the back and set a small amount of lint on fire.  Luckily my wife was right there when it happened.  It’s just over 10 years old so I guess that’s about as much as you can expect.

Of course this coincides with my wife leaving for NL for two weeks on Friday.  Before people ask, no I am not going to attempt to repair this.  If an appliance starts shooting flames, it’s time to retire it, all trust has been lost.
