That sucks. We bought a largish bar fridge when that happened to us, needed the extra room anyway

Discovered Friday evening the fridge stopped working. Freezer portion still works, though.

As a live in a rental, nothing will be done until Tuesday.
Throw a few bags of ice in the fridge if you have room and things aren't spoiled yet.

Unfortunately, the fridge temp was already in the high 50s when I noticed.  As a precaution, I'll be replacing everything in the fridge.

Spent all day waiting for a Bell installer....no show and no call. Yeah, I know it's weird they would be booking for a Sunday on a holiday weekend but when I questioned it they said their contract installers worked 7 days a week.  ???

That SUCKS. I hate delivery/contractor time "windows"... just had to deal with a ton of them at the tail end of our home reno. I'm sorry you had to waste your day.

Appliance guy replaced the control panel and, in twenty-five minutes, I had a working fridge again.

Intersections that have 1 less stop sign than directions. Like WTF?  And then the driver without a stop sign stops making it even worse.

Yeah those are bad.  Just an accident prone area

There's one by me, can't say I understand those at all.

There is always some logic though. Edmonton used to have a number of on ramps that crossed the exit ramps, always a light layer of broken glass and mashed plastic scattered around them. Didn't understand those either, until a traffic engineer explained they are 1) cheap, 2) take very little land 3) worked well enough when they were built and traffic was much lighter

We had one of these in Fredericton, I think the reasoning for it was that it was on a fairly steep hill so traffic coming up the hill didn't have to stop. But because it is adjacent to the universities there always a ton of pedestrian traffic so often you'd have to stop for the crosswalk anyway. A few years ago they finally added a fourth stop sign there.

That was the case. Road salt and sand now mitigate that issue mostly.  Really it was meant for heavy vehicles.  Yes, they are honey traps for accidents as people often assume it's a 4 way.

Your 4 way stops don't have the words "4 way" underneath the stop sign?

Banquet halls, wedding venues etc that don't have nearly enough AC capacity for the number of people they can hold.

This.

They literally have the kitchen window behind them. They turn, grab your order and put it on the counter.

It would be like tipping for fast food IMO.

I think it's becoming more and more of an industry standard to have the tip option on payment machines at fast food joints around here. I think I've posted about it before but the standard option at the Subway across the street from my office is 20%... Sir, I know you're a "sandwich artist" but come on... the $5 footlong has now become a $12 sandwich as it is...

Me thinks it's not going to the counter person, rather the owner.

Speaking of tips, at some point over the past half a dozen years I like many have moved to the 20% tip for things like sit down restaurants, hair cuts, etc.  I’m starting to think that I should go back to 15% because I don’t feel like a lot of these people are truly doing anything over and above, so why give them the extra 5%.  Maybe I’m just a grumpy old man.

Also, tipping for fast food is stupid.  I also don’t donate money at checkouts.  If I want to donate it’ll either be a charity I pick, likely animal related, or from someone who takes the effort to come to my door and talk to me in person about the cause.
