I'm used to it. He refuses to get other rims for his winter tires because the dealer told him the rims are programmed to the car hahahhahaa

That pretty good compare to Subby , which I believe is 30,000 km
The RX is 192,000 km , Chevy is about 160,000 km

They could be programmed if they have TMPS , but enough money to the dealer any wheel can programmed to the car, or just drive around with the TMPS light on  ;D

When my kid bought his winter tires, they came with the TPMS things too, and of course the light went on and he was all panicky and I said never mind, it's OK....so I made an appt for his car to be taken in to the local Ford dealer, and they said they'd do it for nothing.  Takes less than 5 minutes.  2 days later the light went off on its own and I cancelled the appt...it seems to have programmed itself...just like mine did on the Fusion (which is what I told him it would do)...seems (at least 2 out of 2 so far for me/us) they don't need to go back to the dealer to get connected.  Self learning might be a thing.  Or the light just goes off in an eff-it way.

Came across some lane markings that just don't make sense.

Out in the Surrey, Langley area, there are several intersections where there are two lanes, same direction, get to a busy intersection and the right lane is right turn only and the inside lane becomes a straight thru and left hand turn lane combined. Just doesn't make sense traffic wise IMHO. As soon as one vehicle wants to turn left, the traffic backs up behind it as the traffic from the opposite direction goes through the intersection, while the right hand turn lane is empty. Wouldn't it make more sense for the right lane to be straight thru/right hand turn. Both of these were in areas where there is very little pedestrian traffic, so only the occasional time a vehicle would have to wait for a pedestrian.

Would depend on the volume of traffic turning left versus right.

If there's enough traffic turning right, it would make sense to have a right only lane because vehicles would be able to turn right on red in your jurisdiction, and thus not hold up right turn traffic regardless of red or green and add to the queue. Left and straight traffic must wait for the green regardless so it may be better to hold up just one lane, instead of both.

And then there's the obvious: the road retains 2 lanes in the direction of travel after the intersection, right ?

The fact that my FILs POS Journey needed spark plugs at 50k kms....

Wow..really?
In the manual and everything. Yeah it was cheap and took 10 min, but come on, I thought that spark plugs are 150k km on your run of the mill commuter toaster.
For a bunch of VW Group vehicles, the plugs are due at 100k- had to remind my father they were overdue on his Tiguan (110k)

I haven't been running as much as usual thanks to getting out to the mountains, and yesterday I went out way too fast and now my calf is sore - ugh.  I'll have to limit my mileage and watch out.  But, I did 1000M of vertical on the stairs this morning and it felt fine - so while my running is going to be limited a bit, at least I'm still strong "mountain-wise."

I have always woken up at 4 AM, even when I was a child and still do to this day. Love my early mornings.

If it's the weekend I'm often still up at 4 AM. My sleep schedule is terrible, for no good reason.

I get up at 5am every day.   Got into the habit in the late '80s to go and run before going to work.   Then the office location changed so that 5am was necessary to beat the traffic into work and to get out early to stand a chance coming home. Now I have been retired for 11 years  and I still get up at 5am.   Best in June of course
