Filling in the boxes from T5013 slips into Turbotax.   Counts as seriously annoying to me.   All the other slips...no problem but the T5013 has been buggered around to serve about 10 different varieties of investments and the good folks at Intuit and the CRA are NEARLY as bad as Microsoft with their inscrutable error messages.
The most radical revolutionary will become a conservative the day after the revolution.

I used to file a complex T1 for myself and a ridiculous T2 for the firm, and then I started having a super-simple one or two T4 return once I was teaching.  Took me maybe 5min to enter my info on Turbo-Tax and poof, done.

Today, the missus has one T4, I have one from some P/T work I did and my pension slip.  A few T2202A's transferred from the kid and a year's worth of transit passes.  RRSP and charitable slips, and we're done.  Five minutes?  Not any more.  Now I seem to be negotiating a series of "click on the line and a form pops up with more sub forms about to pop up..."  Not that bog of a deal, but I thought the not-too-long-ago T1 General worked pretty well.  Now it seems more lines have an additional form attached to them, instead of simply entering a value.  Annoying.

Taxes are indeed comically complicated.

But it does create jobs. If not productivity.

The 5013 is the only form (that I have to fill in) that is a problem. Every thing else, even the half baked capital gains and losses is easy enough.

I do agree with mmret that the system is far too complex...all done in the interests of "fairness" I suppose.

My better half and I have picked up some virus and have been feeling like crap all weekend.
Weird symptoms though, headaches, body aches, my kidneys hurt sometimes, Lynn can't sleep, says her eyes hurt, no energy.

I really wanted to get some stuff done this weekend, the weather is great,  all I can do is sit on the couch and groan.

That's been my last 4 days. Took Thursday and Friday off work, first time in seven years I've taken two sick days consecutively (probably only my 4th or 5th sick days ever...). Normally I bounce colds in 2-3 days, but this one has been relentless. From first symptoms Wednesday morning, today is the first day I've started to see some light at the end of the tunnel.

I had 2 co-workers have to go home on Thursday, they were ready to collapse.  I stayed, but didn't manage to do much more than stare at a screen for a while.  I have to work tomorrow night, dunno if I'll make it as it hasn't really let up much for us.   Time to take some more drugs.

The dogs think we're being really boring this weekend, lots of groaning.

Current project has been frozen, again, this time for budget review. Every time a project is stop/started the costs increase.  :banghead:

The remote VM I use has apparently died. The client's IT is looking into it, but some of their server people are out sick/in training.

Going to be a long day.

Yeah, at least I'm not dog tired.

Working days lately?

Two weeks off would be good right about now.  :)

Bummer, man. I'm familiar with the feeling.

I got almost 6 hours last night, so I'm good today.

Nah, it's normal now. Used to it. I function on little sleep just fine on those days I wake. I'm a light sleeper...once I wake up, there's no falling back asleep.

I sometimes (rarely) field customer support request calls at work. Since our city uses 311 centralized customer request system and info they gather is generic and incomplete.  So i call this guy and right off the bat im trying to get some info out of the guy and this guy tells me he told previous person everything and that i need to look it up and he wont repeat anything.

I say alright, given the info i have i cant tell him a lot.

And he goes off how i am incompetent and the sole purpose of my job is to help him.

On the contrary, my job description doesnt contain fielding phone calls from disgruntled and rude people.

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

It's beyond me why people can't figure out that if you're nice to the other person on the phone you're so much more likely to get what you want.

When I'm slowing down slightly before exiting on an off ramp to give myself a little space between the car in front of me and myself so I can take the ramp with a little speed when someone comes charging up from behind and cuts in front at the last second before jamming on the brakes and taking the ramp at 30km/h...

haha, I'd have no problem if they continued on the ramp with any kind of speed, but when they slow to a crawl its just irritating.
