So Shane, what's your decor going to be like?

Is there such a thing as "Brew Pub Chic"  ;D

^ Agreed.  The Leaf's, Molson Canadian, and Keith's signs, followed by the pitcher of Moosehead don't exactly scream "British Pub" to me.  lol

A British has to have 'Ye Olde' in the name, of course.

I won't divulge much just yet, but my goal is to have it "tastefully" done.  :)

The loft area, I think, will had a nice and unique touch.

Mother's searching for a car. So I happened across a white 320i sport locally and stopped by for a test drive. The car isn't remarkable enough to deserve its own thread.

Oh dear, it's like a completely different car company manufactured that, and my E90. Despite being equipped with sport seats, sport suspension, new summer Bridgestone performance tires, and a M sport steering wheel, the chassis and handling and steering felt so flabby and distant. I darted it into a mere 45° turn at a brisk (not excessive) speed and it's like a split second delay between steering input and reaction. The steering felt slow and told me nothing about the grip or road surface.

Is this really what the mainstream buyer wants in a car thesedays?  ???

For what it's worth, my only other experience with the F30 3er was in a 328i sport back in 2012, with adaptive dampers, manual transmission, and variable steering. That was passable.

Yep, we're keeping our 2011 328 forever.

BMW has indeed become the ultimate crowd pleasing look-at-me machine for aspirationals.
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel.

Seriously...after everything that's been said about FGC on here, YTF would you even consider getting mom a BMW?  :nono: Corolla. Camry. Hell get her a Fusion Sport (2010-2012  ;)) But a BMW?  Guess ya'all must be rich or something. 1%ers... And no Subaru either!  Domestic, cheap, reliable.  Maybe she'd like a Lucerne.  :hide:

Why run it dry? Fuel stabilizer is good for 1 year..and the stuff I use much longer than that.

My parents are more sold on BMWs than I am, given our positive experiences on reliability and dynamics and confort. We aren't 1% at all, but keep our cars for a long time. And remember in the US, the price of a used BMW versus a new Ford/VW is identical, so for them they would always go for the used BMW.

Turns out my dad took her to test a X1 as well today, but she didn't like it because it didn't have Park Distance Control.

They may not drive their cars to the limits like I do, nor have (admittedly exceedingly) high expectations I do. But they love the solidity and backroads behaviour found in German cars. For example, they complain about the brake pedal feel on their Tiguan more than I do, and the greater body roll compared to the X3 we used to have. And after my experience with the Mazda3, they won't go back to a Japanese car. I tell her to just get a VW Golf, and she agrees its a great car given our trip to Montréal........"but it's made in Mexico, isn't it?"  ::)

This forum is kind of over the top when it comes to FGC bashing about reliability

Usually I do.  But in one of them, I think there is less fuel than any fuel stabilizer I were to put in! Just habit I guess.

C'mon...aint nothing but the gospel truth spoken here.  Anyone on here who's owned a BMW so far seems to have had issues with it.  I forget who, one of the New Brunswick guys (K2DSK?) had one for how long? A year?  Aqua spent how many $'s making repairs to his?  After how many kms on it? (I don't remember either, but it was a bunch).

As for living...dude...I drive a Sonic. Without air conditioning! Or CC!! But the damn thing's got a stick!  I do live little!  ;D I'm a golf (bad choice) bouncy baller!

I'll never get to even test drive one (any FGC) so not like I'll ever know.  I could barely get the Hyundai guy to let me take out a high end base model Sonata...hell no to the turbo Ltd! (Sheesh...it's a Hyundai man... ::)) Guess I don't look serious enough.  Pull up in a rusty Taurus and you get judged.  :P (that was back in '11)

Live a little? Without warranty, some people here would be out many thousands of dollars and their car for many days.

That's not a great way to live...especially funny coming from you who cries about having to spend money on this or that or is beside himself for a visit to the dealer for a mere "rattle".
