The Mrs leaving lights on after leaving the room.  Drives me bonkers.  Amazing how you can remember to turn the light on but you can't remember to turn it off. :banghead:

Ease your pain.  Motion sensing light switches.

This is a great idea, will have to look into this.

I have one in the basement, and one in the main level powder room.  Not that I care about the kids turning the lights on or off, I just don't want to do it for them!  As they can't reach! The $30 for a motion sensor switch, will take a long time to get any savings...

I don't think it's about the savings for him...

He wants to prevent himself from doing this:

He should just get over it , led light bulb @ 8w even at 30 cent per kwhr, does not cost that much to run

No, she should just learn to turn off the light when she leaves a room. No reason to have lights on in rooms you aren't using. I also bang my head (love that gif) when people leave the water running while brushing their teeth. No reason to do that.

^ My wife is the opposite.  She is obsessed with turning lights out.
In the middle of our daily get ready for work routine, she regularly turns bathroom lights out and 2 seconds later I flip em back on when I go back in...
She also has a habit of turning lights out when I'm showering.

We are all LED bulbs now and leave far too many lights on all day.

My wife is home with the kids and I will often come home even on a brilliant sunny summers day to literally every light in the house on. Insane.

LOL.  My wife has the same blind spot.   She'll go out of her way to save $5 on a pair of pants but can't bring herself to turn off a light or fan anywhere.

I come home to literally every light in the house (and sometimes the exterior lights when she hits the wrong switch!), plus fans in both girls bedrooms running at full blast as they enjoyed the white noise during their nap 3 hours prior....

Nonsense... the poor girl just can't control herself.  Far better for her to maintain composure by just turning the lights off.
That's what she told me when I asked her.
Or maybe I dreamed that part.  I dunno. Whatever.   :P

We put these killer LED "night lights" in a few outlets around the house.  They have photo sensors in them.  They are so bright, you don't need to turn on the hall lights, landing lights, etc

This was a great purchase.

From what I have observed (having had 3 women in the house for 20+ years) women are only capable of operating a light switch in one direction.

My daughter works a couple shifts a week at Superstore.  She's often on the "Express" till, 16 items or less.  Today, as usual, people are clueless.  One customer had $440 worth of groceries, at the express aisle.

If I got to the store to pick up a few things, I always seem to get one of these morons in front of me.

Hard plastic blister packaging. I wonder how many 1,000's of people have slashed their hand when trying to open one of these with a knife rather than scissors?

I've always felt that the customer should be charge $1 per item over. Would fix that problem quickly.
