What a weird request Sir O.....I have never heard of that before. As for me, went through two double turning lanes today, both times had to brake and swerve because two separate twatwaffles refused to stay in their own lane  >:( >:(
If I had a 0,50€ piece everytime people messed up the double-turn lane.......

So what's you deal? What's with the use of foreign languages and cultural artifacts in your everyday conversations? Like what the :censor:? Are you trying to project that you're worldly? A cultural connoisseur? Are you confused? I'm really just honestly curious.

i initially thought that as well, but he and brigi...i mean fraufabissina had a tiff about use of french and things a little while back and he explained his position.

i get it.  he's the 'euro guy'.  vman, you are the 'builder guy', mmret is the 'rich banker' guy, johnGX the 'bleeding heart' guy, canuck the 'brewmaster guy'.   that's his thing.  ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

BW has (had?) a Ford Fusion

Still has...it's just too damn sexy to get rid of it...plus, you know...Fusion's depreciate awfully.  I owe nothing on it and I'm upside down.  :P  But I do like it.  It's way better than any FGC - 'cept maybe a Passat  ;)  Someone on here once compared driving one to driving an Audi A4 or A6 (probably irrelevant).  So then that must mean it's good.  Only thing I have to do is change oil and the occasional rear diff breather vent thingy to the tune of $16 in parts and an hr of labour.  Maybe half an hour.  Knock on wood.

Here's one, slightly car-related: what's with many cars having worse and worse rear visibility?

My usual test for this is usually the last one I do on any test drive: I reverse the car back into its original space at the dealership.

On the F30 320i 4-door I test drove, this proved........to be more mental exercise than I would prefer. Between the slightly-more raked rear windshield and the thicker C-pillar, I really had to prop my body/head up to get a decent view.

On my E90, I do it quite a bit of the time and it's very easy. Ditto for cars like the Golf and Tiguan.

What is this tomfoolery for? To increase space in the boot? Better aerodynamics ?

How does a higher bootlid increase crash safety ? Whiplash testing is affected by the geometry of the seats; I know of no "rear impact test".

Less glass, the lighter the car

but it's offset by thicker pillars, more sheetmetals, bulkier parts.  i don't think it's the weight of the glass at all.  maybe a design element....

Weight, cost and it's easier to design an airbag to work with smaller window openings than larger ones.
