Personally I'm not a fan of this segment but I get that many people love these small raised cars.

Is it just that picture or is that floor not even close to being flat.

Trump's going to make this vehicle a non-starter for North America.

Not built in America?  Tax it. Adding that tax will make this thing more extensive, losing its draw compared to the escape. And quite frankly, the escape isn't big to begin with.  Stupid jellybean cars.

^^ jellybean market that is growing like crazy....as people move away from compact sedans and step into this segment. I know of at least one person that went from a Civic to a HRV ;)

God that's hideous.  I love Ford's recent design language but it really doesn't translate well here....

X2, the Festiva is a very nice little car, the Festiva on stilts, yeah no, it looks very awkward and squishie.
Lighten up Francis.....

i don't mind the looks of this thing...i think it actually looks pretty sharp, but then, looks are always subjective.

regarding the rear cargo tray, i don't think this is a flat floor...the tray is likely crooked because it wasn't placed in and fitted snugly (wasn't set back in properly by the press/intro person)...likely just needs to be wiggled back into proper position.

Interesting that we now have our first Indian- and Chinese-built vehicles on the market. Curious to see how they stand up in the quality/dependability/reliability department.

This is certainly a thing that exists.

I believe there has been significant automotive manufacturing in Chennai for quite some time now, and Indian road conditions are nothing to sneeze at.

I like the size but I can still get into sedans, so I see no point :P.

I wonder if there will be a manual transmission.

Like in the Fiesta, it looks like this thing has similar folding seats that leave a 2-level load floor when the seats are folded down.

Yup, they've produced over 1MM vehicles and are a manufacturing hub to Europe, Africa and Middle East

Dec 25 http://www.tflcar.com/2016/12/2018-ford-ecosport-spied-wild-video/

this video shows you the different rear floor levels (top setting makes the floor level with the rear seats down)

^^ That looks like a bit of a clumsy solution. It looks like that rear load floor has to be angled up to meet the higher seat section. Better than the two level floor. But it doesn't really look flat nor level. Maybe it's better in real life.
