How about going a little east to get one?  http://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/dartmouth/classic-mercedes-1990-560-sec-mint-condition-low-mileage/1168451401?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

Damn that's nice. A little pricey though.

I'd have said the same thing if this was a couple years ago. Prices on minty 560 SELs and 560 SECs are going up steadily... anything under 5k is guaranteed to be a dog.

I can see this happening.  Such a desirable design!

agreed, looks awesome.

tint looks like 20...that's usually about as dark as most people go...i think you can get 5, but i don't know anyone who uses that on a car that gets driven regularly (ie, not a show car).

Looks amazing, Adi.  Modern MBs don't appeal to me at all, but I'd rock this in a heartbeat!  Is this what I get to drive in next week?   ;)

Should be interesting to watch,

Love the black/tan combo.

Honestly, I think the late W126 560 sedans are quickly becoming one of the most desirable classic sedans, period.  They're built with a money-no-object approach, but are still 1980's simple enough to keep going virtually forever.

I'll take two 1991 flagships please, a 560SEL and an LS400.

It'll sell ~$8k most likely... if it was an SEC it would go for ~$12k or more.

I bet $13k US, with that kind of mileage. Firm and I were talking about this last night - there's a huge disparity between very low mileage cars ($20-25k+ US) and higher mileage, mint condition cars. I've been watching this closely and I'm pretty sure the 560 sedan values will be going up another 20-25% over the next couple of years as they get rarer. SEC Coupes will rise proportionately, they're worth a few bucks more than the sedans in comparable condition.

Regardless, including everything I've done to the car I'm still not anywhere close to $7-8k invested, including purchase price, so I'm a happy camper!

Yep.  It's what I've done to mitigate losses on purchased cars.  Research which ones are going up...or will remain strong.  My 911s, obviously both went up.  Supra too.  Even the values of used LS430s have climbed (the 2004-2006 models).
