it's amazing how many vehicles that 3800 went into...one of GMs best engines.

Funning fact I read Today about the history of this V6 231cu3: GM bought back from AMC the tooling of Buick V6 they previously sold to Kaiser-Jeep (if I get it right)
#231 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buick_V6_engine#231

Previous version of it
#V6 Fireball https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buick_V6_engine#Fireball_V6
#198 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buick_V6_engine#198
#225 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buick_V6_engine#225
#Dauntless (Kaiser-Jeep) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buick_V6_engine#Dauntless

and quite few more iterations after #231 ... Source https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buick_V6_engine

I was riding my bike home from work on Friday at lunch when I got passed by a bright orange AMG GT.  Man, what a gorgeous, gorgeous car.

And on Thursday I was driving the Civic home from a bike ride at Bird's Hill Park.  I was on Hwy 59 doing 100kph when a JEEP Grand Cherokee SRT turned onto the highway ahead of me and floored it to get to speed.  It sounded AWESOME!!!!

I bought from my father (after the Cricket died) his orange 1977 Buick Skylark, 3rd generation ('75-79), the last one before gen (X) FWD.
Mine was "powered" by a V6 3.8L / 231cu3 coupled to a 3 speed automatic.

Wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buick_Skylark#Third_generation_(1975–1979)

Haha, I had one of those.   Mine was a 76.  I bought it as a second car for us sometime in the late 80s early 90s.  It was owned by a lady in my condo building and I bought it from the estate after she passed away.  It had only around 30K on it and i paid $1000.  Case of being in the right place at the right time.  Drove decently but suspension in those things was crap.

There is an older guy along the route that we walk our pups that has a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk and a Dodge Challenger Hellcat.  Over 1,400hp between his two vehicles.  There are people who if they added up every vehicle they owned and not get to 1,400hp combined.

Didn't have my phone with me, but someone in my neighbourhood has a purple Volvo SUV.  Purple???  Which one comes in purple???  It was parked nose out, so I couldn't see the rear badges.

I can get to 1400hp...just...

It takes 24.5 liters in displacement and 6 engines though.

The toys are coming out in my neck of the woods. Civic R, Audi R8, AMG GT in beautiful green, Jag FType R, Maserati Gransport, a couple of 911s, a Z06 Vette, and a Boxter. All seen on my last walk to the park. The little guy is getting good with his cars too, loved the Maser when it rumbled by.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Is it me of is the AMG GT sooooooooooooo much nicer in real life than in photos? It look too rounded and blobby in pics, but in real life it's very low, sleek, and makes an amazing sound!

I'd have one in a heartbeat.

For whatever reason I've always thought it would be cool to turn one of those mini trucks into a camper/RV.  Something just for two at the most.

Came back from walking the dog and this lovely TR6 was parked beside me.  Got talking with the nice lady and gentleman owners and they bought it brand new in 1974.  They still go on the odd road trip and they're in their late 70s at least.  Thought that was pretty awesome!  :fiver:
