My neighbour just down the street picked up a new white NSX

It's funny. I know the auto journalists hated it, but I kinda like it. Obviously compared to the original, and with all the built up expectations it was a total disappointment. But I bet in a couple of years used ones will be a supercar bargain. And I actually like the fairly muted looks too. I would argue that it's better than an R8.

Not sure I get the hate for the new NSX. I'd go for something other than white though. The original had sort of a luke warm reception initially. Then its a reputation seemed to grow every year. I might be mis-remembering.

Spectacular car.

Very, very under-rated IMO.

For the first time in a hybrid automobile of any price or capability, technology has been placed firmly in the service of emotional involvement rather than in place of it. The hardware, of course, is first-rate and duly compliant with all possible requirements for environmental and social relevance, but the genius of the NSX is entirely human in nature. It was tireless development by human beings that made this very complicated and capable supercar dive for the apex with joy and bully its way to the corner exit with unfettered exuberance. Everything about the car—from the way in which the brake-by-wire pedal lengthens its travel when the brakes are hot to the manner in which the midmounted V6 permits itself a bit of the ol' barbaric yawp when it's winding out in fourth gear—is intended to enhance the driver's involvement.

Able to compete on level ground with the absolute cream of the conventional crop, the NSX also represents a brilliant basis for the ongoing development–indeed, the ongoing existence–of the performance automobile. To drive it for 10 laps on track is to permanently shed any worries that the next generation of supercars will be overpowered takes on a Prius; to experience it on a fast road is to be reassured that tomorrow's technology will be accessible and enjoyable. For that achievement alone, the NSX deserves to be our PCOTY, but the fact that it does it all so well, right now, places it beyond argument. The NSX works, but it also knows how to play. Confident and capable, thrilling on both road and track, the Acura NSX is our 2017 Performance Car of the Year.

Sounds great.

Yea, I heard an angry/sporty sounding car one day and turned my head around to see an NSX.

I think it may have had aftermarket exhaust...but it sounded fantastic.

NSX would not get my money, old one...sure.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Yeah have to agree.  I don't get excited about V6 and electric power.  At least the old one could be had with a manual.

If I'm spending that kind of money I'll get a Porsche GT3 100/100 times.

Although I agree the NSX would line up motor with the Turbo. You can’t daily a GT3 but you can daily a NSX.

Also, as much as I like 911's, they are far too common, and not low enough to have any sort of supercar presence at all. Don't get me wrong, they are great cars, and the GT3 is a very special version, but they just don't look that special. The NSX looks miles better IMHO. YMMV.

Sucks that there is no manual but three pedal setup is disappearing fast on that level of car. Probably buyer demographics and speed of these new automatics and dual clutch things. :-\

Cool! I've seen that car at the Bronte British Car Show; lotta MGBs around, but not many MGCs at all.

I bought from my father (after the Cricket died) his orange 1977 Buick Skylark, 3rd generation ('75-79), the last one before gen (X) FWD.
Mine was "powered" by a V6 3.8L / 231cu3 coupled to a 3 speed automatic.
