reliability doesn't count these days, as all cars are reliable generally speaking ....

I saw a Silver Grey Micra today...with chrome door handles and all of the trim pieces...outside an A&W. It must have been an RS I think and did it ever look super, the way the light caught it. Brand new I think and driven by a young woman. The subject car and Micra are the affordable sports cars of the day I think. Power or not...matters little.
I don't think that any car can have the durable cache of the old rear engine ubiquitous Beetle or real Mini anymore but who knows. Both of those cars were about 38HP and some speed limits were 'unlimited' but there was a law called 'furious driving'.

Its aimed at a different sort of market - those who will pay an extra 30% for their fridge/toaster/mixer to be blue rather white or black. Different set of priorities.

The rims are neat though.

guys... who are we kidding? you don't buy this for its practicality, its fuel economy, its reliability, or its price point... this is the car for a wife with no kids at home any more, who just wants a runabout and thinks the fiat is cute... she can still pick up her grandson in a pinch, and show off her ride when she stops to get her hair did with the girls...

i think it's interesting at least... i'll give it that. but yeah, from an actual car standpoint, hack no would i take it.

But wouldn't a nice Sebring convertible be a better car??  ;D

Or a Beetle?

Or this?

How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

The only 500 I drove so far was the non-Abarth Turbo, with stick, and it was fun! Raspy exhaust, not too stiff, handled sharp curves fine. Not bad at 20k$, but on a daily basis I'd rather...

I showed this car to my wife and she just laughed!  Said it looked too cartoonish and that she'd take a Mini any day over this!

I appreciate the styling of the 500 but yeah, the Mini is a much better choice for a variety of reasons.

I like the look, especially the rims. I'm glad whenever anyone picks something other than the ubiquitous grey/silver 5 spokes that have been around since forever.

Lack of reliability and price kills it for me.

I think I'd pick the Beetle Classic of the small retro mobiles.

$22K for a base one, but with the 1.8T and manual, it's still relatively entertaining.

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

i was having my wife's renegade fixed so took a car off the used lot... took a 500L.... didn't expect it, but i was looking forward to getting back into the renegade... i figured they would drive very similar, but the loaded up fiat wasn't as nice.

For me the Festiva ST would be the way to go in the mid to high 20s range....I just can't do a Beetle that doesn't have an air cooled motor shoved in the trunk.

^Non-retro/cutesy, the Fiesta ST is tops.

The Beetle and Passat have the same bolt pattern. I wonder how those rims would look on it?

I don't get the Micra hate. It's a surprisingly good package ad for the price, it's a real winner. I was surprised by how well it drove. I d buy one.

A Mirage?  Nope. Nope. Nope. Terrible POS. A Micra?  Sure.
