So way back in this thread someone suggested I try the Equus. Which I dismissed out of hand. Well I just drove one. Faack. This car is niiiice! I think that I now officially qualify as an old fart - if there was any doubt.
Quieter than the LS - no kidding. Faster, too, with that same ass-kicking 429hp 5.0 from the R-Spec. Interior must have had a refresh since it was introduced because it is way better than I remember and much nicer than the Genesis (the old Genesis, not the new one). Rear seat room on par with the long wheelbase LS - huuuuge. RWD only, though. And no posh Lexus experience (which I have found to be somewhat variable to this point). Not saying it has dethroned the LS. But it is now on the table.
2013 Equui can be had for less than 2011 LS money - or under $30k. I feel like I'm turning used car shopping into a facking career. But it all might have been over had I not missed the most cherry R-Spec likely in existence.
