Seriosuly...look at the steals here!!

Oh, I know!  Just no need at all for such a car right now.  But, if I did, OMG, I'd have a GS430 in a nanosecond.

I had a lot angst between GS430 and LS430.  GS430 of that vintage essentially rides on the LS platform.  But it has all the newer tech and the first real "L-Finesse" treatment on a Lexus.  And...the GS430 in Canada only came fully loaded to the gills.  15 speaker Levinson, adjustable shocks, sport package, etc.  And it does handle great...so maybe more to APs tastes  http://www.autos.ca/car-test-drives/test-drive-2006-lexus-gs-430/

I think mmret test drove a GS460, too...I might be wrong.  And holy crap....it does 0-50 in 5.5 seconds!

So sell me your LS and use the funds to go buy that GS out west since you are the adventurous type!  Drive it into Oakville and dinner is on me at your restaurant of choice.   ;D

I really like that green one.
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel.

So way back in this thread someone suggested I try the Equus.  Which I dismissed out of hand. Well I just drove one.  Faack. This car is niiiice!  I think that I now officially qualify as an old fart - if there was any doubt.

Quieter than the LS - no kidding.  Faster, too, with that same ass-kicking 429hp 5.0 from the R-Spec.  Interior must have had a refresh since it was introduced because it is way better than I remember and much nicer than the Genesis (the old Genesis, not the new one).  Rear seat room on par with the long wheelbase LS - huuuuge.  RWD only, though.  And no posh Lexus experience (which I have found to be somewhat variable to this point).  Not saying it has dethroned the LS.  But it is now on the table.

2013 Equui can be had for less than 2011 LS money - or under $30k. I feel like I'm turning used car shopping into a facking career.  But it all might have been over had I not missed the most cherry R-Spec likely in existence.

You may have to de-badge it.  I hear that laying low is key.   ;D

Sounds awesome, and rare.  I don't think I've ever seen one in the flesh.

Amazing deal when "used". But it looks like my Genesis after a month of chocopie diet  :P

...you found one to test drive? ??? That is the most surprising thing.

I dropped by the Hyundai place to check out a Santa Fe XL and there wasn't even a Genesis in the showroom.

 :rofl2:

I've seen a few in the flesh, the interior was very 'old man' (ruched leather) in the last one I sat in at the Autoshow.  Hopefully they've improved it a little.

There are 4 available within an hour's drive.  More plentiful than the RSpec.

Would the Equus cost more to own due to accelerated depreciation / repairs?

Depreciation factor is less in play for a $29k 2013 model.  It's already dropped massively. For a comparably priced LS I'm looking at a 2009 model. In 2020, will there be a huge price difference between an 11 year old Lexus and a 7 year old Equus with far lower mileage?  Possibly, but likely not a big difference.

On the "old man" scale it's in a tie with the LS.

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?
