I took a quick look at this one:  http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/oakville-halton-region/2011-lexus-ls-460-awd-huge-warranty/1141877967?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

The store was closed, and so no test drive.  But the vehicle was left unlocked, and so I peaked inside.  Pretty sure it was owned by a smoker.   :(  To my mind, that demands a discount.

Also, I noticed the weather stripping around the sunroof was pealing off.  A google search revealed that this is a common occurrence with this generation of LS.

Left unlocked??! I actually drove that one. I did not pick up the smoke aroma. Driver seat sounded pretty graunchy when sliding fore and aft, though, which put me off. It really hauled ass going up the escarpment on Guelph line, though.  :rofl2:
Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

No - other than the very occasional cigar (thanks Ron!) I am  a non smoker.

The seat was the only thing off that I noticed. Ride was awesome and the motor just feels so strong. The additional warranty - comprehensive, by the way, not just power train - is a huge plus here.

You could have the seat and sunroof fixed on their dime.

PM me if you want to buy it.  In that case, I will stay away from it.

I am interested but not enough to crowd out an opportunity for you.

A most gentlemanly approach good sir, but rock right on if you are interested. If I go LS I have my heart set on silver. But I am still  bouncing between it and a newer GS - whichever I drive most recently I want!  :rofl2:

Work has me tied up over the next two weeks with little opportunity to continue the hunt, so feel free to be first up with a new old Lexus. Do drive one and share your thoughts. I suspect you'll love it.

With all the used Lexus talk.  Keep looking at older SUVs.

http://www.autotrader.ca/a/Lexus/GX/Toronto/Ontario/5_25538195_ON20071012141532742/?ursrc=hl&showcpo=ShowCPO&orup=8_15_15

Pretty good for an SUV that costs $71k with tax new.

Seems like a really solid price.  No 2011 GXs listed in SK, only one in AB for 36K.  A couple of 2010s in AB for more than 36K.
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

the fact it's at a "used car lot" would worry me though...most of the good stuff is usually found on a Lexus lot, not some used car dealer where they often advertise "Everyone Approved - Come get your new wheels today".
When you've lost the argument, admit defeat and hit the smite button.

I'm hot and heavy for a used GX as my wife's next car (sexist!! :rofl2:)

The 2012-2013 model year range seems to be the sweetspot to me for selection, albeit still somewhat limited.   More in the $40k range though.

Love those things.

I would love a GX or LX. Unfortunately my wife's (is it ok to say my wife rather than the wife?  ;)) love of boxy looking SUVs has passed. She used to love the look of the boxy Pilot.  She's got her sights squarely on an MDX.  I'm good with that (not that I need to be  :P).

I think it's better to say "the" wife, because "my" wife implies possession.   ;D

Oh :censor: your right.  Fack me, I'm politically incorrect.  I should just use "the better half".

Before we bought the HL, we drove a bunch of stuff, and the missus loved the Lexus RX for driving and the GX for being a passenger.  I thought she'd prefer the ride of the car-based RX, but she said as a passenger, the ride/seats/etc of the GX were the best.

Yeah when I looked, pretty big jump in price.  It's the same V8.  Hard to tell from the ads, have to do more research, but I would prefer to stay away from air suspension..

You can go back in years with the LX...all the way back when it was running a massive 4.5L I-6.

When does the Mark Levinson system come equipped? :-)

2001+.   But prior to that it also had among the best stereos...the Nakamichi.

These ads are decent.  First one appears to be very clean.  But price is $$ for the mileage IMO

This LX caught me eye as well.  But I notice the LX consumes 15-20% more gas on paper than the GX.

Rocket, from what I have read, when equipped with nav, it has the air suspension I think.  So I assume this one would have it.

Yes, you can see the ride height adjustment button..4th to last picture.

Also..it's missing the rear jump seats.  Otherwise...very, very nice.

And the LX470 is a real deal, very capable off road vehicle.  This is essentially a Land Cruiser in a tux.
