The single biggest plus to me is AWD.

the current Gen of Genesis sedans are all AWD...but that means 2015 MY and up, all of which will be a lot more than $20k, of course...i had a Grand Marquis many years ago, with all season tires, and never had any problems driving year round in it...a RWD Genesis with quality winter rubber should likely be fairly good.

Yep. IQ and I have always had RWD cars...and in all but the fiercest of winter conditions (ie snow deeper than the bumpers!), they were just fine.

My buddy has a 2013 R-Spec Genesis V8. He bought it last year for about $30k with 45 km.

Its a BEAST and pulls like crazy! He says it burns oil though, 1.5 quarts in 4 months...

Buy it yet? That's a great price. Lots of money left over for repairs if there is any

Make sure it has a clean carproof. Offer asking with no fees etest and safety.

What could go wrong?

Or ask for asking price taxes in. The worst they can say is no.

Like I said...I'd buy the Genesis. Lots of car for the cheddar. If he doesn't like it? Sell it and go Lexus later.

Already seen the carproof and service records - all good. Safety was already included. Can't see the e-test being a problem.

hmmm...the oil consumption issue is concerning...it shouldn't be burning oil (or leaking it either, of course).

Interesting turn of events! Genesis R spec is definitely faster than LS, but those 2 cars aren't in the same class of vehicle. Lexus LS is in the same class as Hyundai Equus, so compared to Genesis R spec it should drive somewhat differently.
