Is there on a used market a real LS direct competitor in terms reliability? Nope...

^^^^   :iagree:

For a used flagship, Lexus is the only safe choice.  I know someone with a 2002 LS430 - it's still a gorgeous car.  He figures it's a $10-12K used car.  That's a lot of car for the money. If he decides to sell it, I'd have a hard time not snapping it up.

I don't think we agreed on a price though??   :stick:

Mine is an easy $12K car with the high being $14k.

I'm 3 months into my ownership and it's a wonderful car.  As Jon said...a TON of car for the money. It has options that most people don't need...or would use (the self closing doors come to mind)  And everything seems to work as they should...which isn't always the case with cars with plenty of tech options.  The steer-around-the-corner headlights (i-AFS) work amazing, the auto windshield wipers work as expected, the voice functions work, the radar cruise...just everything....works!  I still don't like the seat heating/cooling controls (too small).  Engine is a gem.  I fell in love with this engine in my GS.  It's potent and fast (0-60 in 5.8 seconds)...with torque everywhere.  Economy is good for a large barge..I'm averaging 11L/100km since I bought it and that has been all winter months/winter gas.

I think the 430 will look good for many years.  If has a simple design that ages very well.  Car has great curb appeal too.

That being said....I'd REALLY like an LS600h.

See??  Too small.  A little bigger diameter than a pencil eraser

How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Nope, not yet  ;). But I'll be watching prices so you don't try to pull a fast one on me :stick:  ;D

Seriously though, how soon do you plan to upgrade to the 600h?

Do you plan to move to something sporty/faster in between?

I have a feeling once the summer months hit, I'll be wanting something sporty.  When are you buying an LS??

Depends on a few factors, including a move, but looking at December - January ideally. We'll see, however.

I might be able to hold off that long.  :)  Last time at the Lexus dealer in the US, someone was trying to buy it from me.  :)

I would be very seriously interested in that case. Don't sell to a yank! Keep it in the forum!

CAD is rising again! $0.77 today. Seriously, just let me know when you want out. If I can't buy it then, I'll just annoy you with PMs about the LS when the time comes  ;D

Sounds fair!

Getting some TLC at the dealer tomorrow (4 wheel alignment) and a new front bumper next week!

Just an outstanding vehicle.

Ron - a link to your purchase thread on the LS please?

If a good deal on a 460 ever came my way I'd likely pull the trigger. Very rare to see any on the used car market though. My guess is these cars get kept in their original family forever. A few years back I found a minty black 1995 LS400 with 140k for $6500 being sold by its original owner. I regret no buying that car.

An Avalon would just as well fit in this thread as Ron's Celsior  ;D
