That's pretty good. Does the bumper come painted?

I wouldn't think so.

For the LS, I am going to guess between $2000-$2500. Labor, taxes and all.

Yea...I wouldn't say you're wrong.  It's going to be $1500-$2500 IMO.

We need to get a raffle going on this.  :)

What is the prize for whoever gets it closest or to the exact price? A test drive of your LS?  ;D

Official noted:  You have first dibs.  Getting ready to replace the shocks with traditional ones...just because.  And will likely ad the other "Sport" bits too so I have the best of both worlds.

There was a killer deal on a unicorn LS430 SPORT a week ago on Kijiji.  $8500 with 2 sets of wheels!

Another car at 10km/h.  Someone stopped on the yellow, he expected them to go through, it was slippery just barely ran into them.

Good guess. $9k + $700 for rental car.

All this makes me feel much better about the $14k repair on my Gen Coupe (driver's door, fender and stuff).
It will still scare the heck out of a buyer...

Still cheaper than fixing the racoon.

Oh those crazy prices!   :o :o :o :o

While I understand the technology under those bumpers is amazing, lifesaving and in many cases required, it does make one yearn for the days of rubber bumpers.  You remember, the ones that could actually, you know, bump?

Or the good old Rubber Bumper MGB  ;D

I remember watching my dad using  one RB MB to push another non-running RB MGB up the driveway and into the garage way back when I was a kid. Those bumpers were perfect for pushing (or more likely, being pushed)

I don't think these rubber bumpers would have survived a similar impact. 15+ pounds at 80kmh will leave a mark!

The MGB bumpers are a big steel beam coated in lots of really tough rubber (sorta like tire rubber). Short of actually bending the steel beam, or the bumper mounts it is pretty difficult to damage. Even if you did manage to damage it...source new new one (now days about $100), and bolt it on (4 bolts). No need to paint or anything like that.
