Mercedes-Benz replaces its C 400 sedan with the C 450 after only one year, and creates a highly desirable middle ground between the C 300 and C 63 AMG.

Very nice. I saw one recently in that nice shade of brown Mercedes has. I wonder if you can get it in red?
I love it when a plan comes together.

This may be the perfect car if it weren't for the damned iPad.

I'm quite sure I am in the minority here, but i don't have much use for a built in nav screen anyway.  I rarely use the one I have now and for the few times I do need it my smartphone would suffice.  In fact when driving on a dark highway at night I always turn my dash lights way down to see the road much clearer.  I'm actually quite surprised at how many people rarely (if ever) adjust their dash lights and have had passengers get quite freaked out when I've done it.

Besides any screen less than 65" is useless anyway!  :rofl2:

I really hope Infiniti will not get too greedy and price the Q50 400 HP $10K+ lower than 340s & C450s to give us a more affordable performance luxury car.

Based on what I see in my FCG very friendly neighborhood, high end of the compact  German cars have become halo cars, never mind their top hot rod versions. I have yet to see a 340; 335s are quite rare considering how long it has been on the market and how many 328s and especially 320s are rooming the streets. I only saw two C400s so far. A4 represent the better value IMO and they are omnipresent although the high end trim is a rare sight.

Profit margins are so high on the more pedestrian models that BMW and M.-B. don't really care selling their sportier models anymore.

First we get the one year only C400, not we get the one year only C450 AMG... Make up your mind, Mercedes!

Not sure why anyone would pick the A4 these days, since it has already been replaced in Europe and the new model is imminent here. It is pretty dated compared to the Mercedes and BMW options. Whether buying or leasing, the depreciation of the A4 will mean it's more expensive. Mercedes is offering very high residuals on the C-Class, so the cost to lease is typically much lower than the equivalent A4 or 3 Series. Unless there are huge incentives and discounts available on the A4, I don't see how it can be better value.

A base A4 has standard leather and sunroof while the C-class does not. The mid-range A4 ($47k) also has standard nav and backup camera. A C300 with nav, leather, backup camera, and a sunroof is $49,500. At that price the C300 still lacks the satellite radio, HomeLink, keyless entry and start, and parking sensors that are all standard on the A4.

Thank you. And the pricing of the new A4 is already available on Audi's website so someone doing his homework will see it was true then and still is, if not even better than before.

There is still the cache of "Mercedes" plus it has a different feel / look to it that can't be equated to simply a sunroof or leather in another car.

I saw a black C450 the other day and thought I saw it wrong.. I guess someone picked one up already!
There are so many of these on the road now.. and with the new E-class looking almost identical to C and S classes, the street's going to be aplomb with these lookalikes!
I actually like the previous-gen E-Class (one with separate headlights) now with all the new models looking the same.
