You know I was thinking about this car and what Caddy could do to best compete with the Germans/Asians in this category. Now this will never happen of course but what I came up with is them make this a hatch back. Keep it RWD and offer a manual. You'd instantly get the enthusiasts interested and also have a feature that all the others don't offer.
Now they won't do this because of US market. Caddy would rather try and compete with these companies with a similar 4 door sedan that offers more performance but less utility. I see these becoming a very good deal on a lease as they'll soon realize they can't compete with these offers similar to the ATS story. When the ATS first came out I saw a number of them around town and now I'm struggling to remember a time I saw one in the last 6 months.
