mazda has really done their marketing to convince everyone the CX-3 is a compact SUV...i've driven beside a few in the last couple of weeks and it is barely any larger or "higher" than my Rio5...when i checked the websites to confirm, neither list a ground clearance spec, but they are going to be awfully close (it doesn't look any taller than my car, when i'm beside them at the lights)...as well, the cargo space in the CX-3 is listed as 452L, which is marginally more than the 424L for my Rio5, which is a subcompact hatchback...don't get me wrong, i think the CX-3 is a decent offering, but i don't get the "Compact SUV" label...it's really nothing more than what the Mazda2 should have been all along...of course, we all know how much of a flop that was, so marketing it as a "Compact SUV" will suddenly convince people to buy it i suppose.
When you've lost the argument, admit defeat and hit the smite button.

Yup and it works.

People tell me all excited they bought an SUV.   Then they tell me it's a cx3 or hrv or whatever and I say how cute lol... Here is a real SUV and have to lift myself up into mine with the grab handles.

Sometimes to make them feel even smaller I'll raise the ride height of my Lexus to full off road mode lol

I see a win mirroring the US version of the award, meaning the new civic and xc90.

I'd like to be proven wrong and have the Golf R win of course.

Of the 6 I would pick the Civic and the CX-3.  They are not the best though.  None of the trucks are trucks or even SUV's so I would pick the Tacoma in that category.

The Civic is a great product and will sell in great numbers but the MX-5 is a much better car and the clear winner in that category.

IMHO of course.

i can see the Civic winning the car category...the CX-3 shouldn't be in the SUV category because it isn't an SUV...between the XC90 and the Sorento, i'd pick the Sorento...the XC90 was already a decent vehicle before and the new version isn't really any different...and not many people are actually going to buy it anyway...the redesigned Sorento (like the Civic) is quite different from its previous generation and much improved, and is a vehicle most regular people can afford and will buy.

AJAC, where people with 15 year old beaters tell you which new cars are the best.  :stick: :rofl2:

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

it isn't bias, it's agreement...it's already won several awards from various journalists, has had numerous positive reviews from all the top sources, and after personally driving it, was able to convince me to purchase one (which of course, is always the hardest one - "Would you buy it with your own money?").

i'm not saying anything negative about the other two vehicles (the other two are both great vehicles too), i just don't think the CX3 should be in the compact SUV category, and the previous Volvo was already nice (so the new one is just another new nice Volvo).

I forgot to put the :stick:

I personally really think the new XC90 stands out compared to the old one.  The new unit is a lot nicer.

Did Porsche have an official presence or was it just one of the local dealers? When I went to the 2014 show the Porsches were roped off. You couldn't even get close to them, let alone sit in them.
