Why do BOTH the Patriot and Compass exist? Seems like the Compass is a shaved edged version of Patriot.

^^ good for you! My neighbours' Jeep was a POS, they kept it for 6 years but latest round of issues was too much. They replaced it with a RAV4....next in line is their Caliber.

don't get me wrong...i wouldn't buy one either...just saying that, with a little TLC, it'll keep going for years...it doesn't have a sophisticated ride or anything, but it won't die.

yeah, if you can put up with the harsher ride, sub-par materials and all that, they really could last forever if taken care of... (should be the case with most vehicles now though)

i'm more impressed that they replaced it before the caliber...
