I wonder why the Germans always put the main light switch where you will knock it with a knee when you get in and out of the car.

Well its easy....you put a C class in a printer than go zoom 115% and 125% and boom...done!!

While I think the new E looks amazing and it will be a perfect sized vehicle for me  I believe MB should have kept it different.
The C and S always sort of looked alike and the E always had the exotic - albeit conservative -  looks!

Yup! it was cool how MB decided to do something completely different with it in 1996!...you'd look at the E and automatically identify it as an E!

It's true, though at the time those headlights were pretty controversial. I think they worked well on that gen though.

Agreed.  Looking on those 3 pictures side-by-side, I like how that top crease along the side of the car goes through the door handles on the E.   Looks better than the S and C where it falls beneath them.

I noticed that as well and it is a brilliant design detail!  It's almost as if the designers noticed this after the S and C and finally got it right with this one.  Then again I think the E has been the best looking MB sedan as far back as I can remember.

I noticed that as well and it is a brilliant design detail!  It's almost as if the designers noticed this after the S and C and finally got it right with this one.  Then again I think the E has been the best looking MB sedan as far back as I can remember.
