Needs a bigger grille.

In Canada, this car is barely relevant.

not hard to tell its the Yaris sedans (or Scion iA) mother  ;D - that's suppose to look good , where's the barf bag!  Toyota seems to be on a quest to see which model they can bring out next with the larges gaping grille - look at the some of models in the Lexus line-up too - yipes!

I think I might be looking at midsizers again next go around. There's enough overlap that I may give the Avalon and Impala a once over.

But both the large and mid-size sedan market segments are declining pretty quickly in Canada.

It's amazing how much car makers spend on marketing and yet when told directly "it's fugly" they pretend not to hear...  :-X
Otherwise kudos for not killing off an excellent powertrain in the name of FE and fashion.

I wouldn't say basement level sales.  Nissan Maxima had a good year in 2015 at ~ 1500 units, but in 2014 it sold the same number as Avalon.  That's the closest competitor I can think of.  And yes little CUV prices are getting out of hand.  But that's what people seem to want these days and manufacturers are cashing in.

There seems to be little logic on the vehicles we get (in Canada) and don't get.  Vice Versa for the US as well.  800 sales?  Why bother?  I am sure GM could sell more Chevy SS up here, but do we get those?  How about the Acura TSX wagon that sold in the US?

I suspect this will be the last Avalon generation sold in Canada.

I like it in person, but not as much as the ES350.  That said, it's pretty much a luxury car bargain.  If you want a larger car than the Camry and want FWD, it's a terrific choice.

cant get past the looks

never have, and never will consider buying a Toyota

this is just reinforcing that notion
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Agreed, I'd much prefer a bigger grille!   ;D

I searched on google for "ugly car grille" and it's staggering how many Lexus/Toyota products come up.
