With its QX30 set to go on sale here around the middle of 2016, Infiniti has announced trim levels for its first-even compact crossover model.
I suppose 30 is an even number...
I'm ok with the misleading nomenclature of QX if AWD is 'available', but the way this article reads suggests that AWD will only be available in the top trim. I doubt that'll be the case, and instead it'll be a hefty $2,000+ standalone option. It'll be interesting to see if you need to trim up to get the AWD even as an option.
After Lady No-san's parents have had their CX-3 for a number of months now, they are really regretting their lease and are considering trading it in early. 100% of back seat passengers (yours truly included, 2 elderly, Lady No-san, and a bunch of their middle-aged friends) get car-sick. We're positing that it's partially the 'new car' smell that simply hasn't faded over numerous months, and mostly the horrid outward visibility from the rear. Other than that, they do love the CX-3; however, I cannot imagine that the QX30 will do any better in this regard.
Unless the QX30 is thousands (like, nearing $5,000+) cheaper than the MB-variant, I'm not sure this will be successful, especially given the FWD-heavy trim options.
