I'm guessing the platinum goes up against the high end MB and BMW models, more like a bargain S-class 7 series, or A8 competitor. They've kept the pricing competitive. Still want to see a V8 option though.
With only $2300 between the 4 cyl RWD base model and the V6 AWD version I can't imagine they'll sell many base cars. Guessing it's only there for the government mileage tests and marketing purposes.
$61K, considering the 2.0T ATS I am driving right now is the same price that actually sounds pretty good. No V8 is a no-go though...Cadillac needs a flagship V8. Say what you will about the Northstar, but it was a great marketing tool.

It'll probably be some type of hybrid I'd guess.
Because a 400hp/400ft-lb twin turbo V6 is sooo inadequate. You'd think you guys were born in 1940. Normally aspirated V8s are dead. Get used to it.

Has nobody here noticed that the article title and thread title say "XT6"? The car in question is the CT6...
I no longer think the V8 is mandatory.... Plenty of people like the fuel efficiency and power delivery of a turbo 6 and just don't care how many cylinders there are.

I'm with rrocket. V8 or bust.
