Not to be TOO much of a stickler, but why is this:

...picture included (of a VW Golf Comfortline) when the 1.8T (and clearly not the 2.0D) were not chosen as the 'winners'?

Anyhoo, I'm a little surprised by some of the choices.  The Volvo, Volt, and Prius should surprise no-one, especially nor the Mustang's ( ); however, is the RAM's diesel that much better than any of the other existing competing engines?  And GM's 3.6L V6 is nice, but is it that much more worthy of note over any others?  I didn't think so, but what do I know.

I think VW's 1.4T should have been included...it's truly a little peach.

Little surprised no mention of the VW 1.8T.  Has the 3.6L from GM (which I like) changed much over the years?  As this is not the first time it's won.  Same with the Nissan 3.5L, has the changed at all.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with it.  Just asking if it has changed much over the years...

More importantly, where is it -2° already so that I never go there? And check your tires' pressure.

I actually like the way they do it... basically, run the engine through the paces and pick winners... winners get to stay in the mix as long as nothing else knocks it out of the top ten...

i would imagine some of the repeats are moving further down the list and will be gone soon, but i can understand their place in the article still...

this is the way all the lists should be done.. i hate the coty lists with cars that just got luck being in a weak year... they should have to have (good) competition.

If we are naming electric motors to the list, I have one, my LG dishwasher is not only quiet, it also cleans like a sunavabitch.....

The motor in our dryer just bit the bullet :(  My clothes are damp and I'm not happy.  Sorry, GE, but any awards your motor may have won are now revoked!  ;D
