I'd hope that Porsche could make more than 265 hp out of that 2 liter turbo.  If I was to guess I'd say they'd probably do something like 270 or 275 for the base model.  The S would get a similar small increase.

We know they are capable of getting 500 hp out of a small 2L turbo engine so why would anyone think they'd decrease horse power to 240 (down 25 hp)?

Porsche never went for big HP numbers, but for handling, feel, drivability.. Therefore, I would expect them to sacrifice power to reduce turbo lag.. The turbo lag in my R is acceptable for the kind of car it is, but never would be in a Porsche.

EDIT: I suppose a twin scroll/TT set up could do that too.

Octane.  Want to bet that they are running some sort of race fuel to get 500hp out of that 2.0L?

My 300ZX does 815hp on race fuel.  On pump 94, we're down to 547hp.  Can't run as much boost or ignition timing on pump fuel, resulting in lower numbers.

815hp

It's insanity.  3rd gear at 100km/h and I can light the tires up.  Now on the 1/4 mile strip with sticky tires and VHT, it's a lot of fun.
