2009 Corolla - 160K - nothing.
Lies.  I know you've had some sh!t go wrong.

The thread is about what is currently needing repairs.  The Corolla needs nothing right now.

In the past, the Corolla has had a few recalls, one for the power window switch, one for the VVTi gear and now one for the Takata airbag.  Oh, and the trunk springs.

In terms of repairs, the only true mechanical failure was the waterpump starting making some noise in March - replaced the original plastic impeller model with the newer metal one.  While I was in there, I could hear a very slight noise from the alternator, so I also replaced it to be proactive.  Changed the coolant then too, of course.

Front brakes at about 125K.  Some tires along the way.  Changed the trans fluid at 100K despite Toyota saying it's "fill for life."

The body and interior are in great shape, no squeaks or rattles and the paint still cleans up great despite it about to finish it's eighth year with us.  I might put a new battery in sometime soon, again being proactive.

That's how I understood it....There wouldn't be enough hours in a day for me to type out the repairs my cars needed in the past

2010 Land Rover LR4: (125 000 km) Dare I say nothing? Replaced the front discs and rotors not long ago and everything seems good. Oh I replaced the licence plate lights with some LEDS because one of the old ones was burnt.

I'm floored!

Generally speaking of course.  It's understood that if your vehicle is 30 years old or has more than 200000 kms it will have a long and possibly chequered past.

Although it is important to note that if you DO have a high mileage vehicle and it has had nary an issue, this is important to note.

I guess what I'm trying to log are abnormal repairs.  Repairs you wouldn't normally expect in a vehicle as reliable as you think yours is.  For example, a car with 200 000kms will likely had balljoints and tie rod ends replaced, but this is normal.  If a car with 30 000kms has had a ball joint replaced, this is NOT normal.

What about a 2009 Corolla in the Edmonton-area having a water pump replaced after 6 years and an unknown amount of mileage?

;D  I do realize I'm being a little sh!t, John ;D

I casually looked and then lost interest.  My way was easier.

I'll amend my prior post.

2009 Santa Fe GLS, 78,000 kms on the odo

A few months ago:  front passenger wheel bearing.

This weekend:  valve cover assembly needs replacing, as the seal is allowing oil to leak.

Everything else has been normal maintenance (brake pads and rotors all around in May, oil changes, new AS tires).

Hope your Ford & Jeep are better. Wow.

It was covered under warranty but still a major PITA.

Gmc Acadia- 90,000k, Notice this rather loud "rattle" randomly on a cold start, lasts ~2 seconds and goes away. Will do it if the unit sits a few hours after driving. but its random.

I might be paranoid too after the rater expensive timing chain disaster on my Nissan Maxima.

Ford has huge issues with painting aluminum, this bubbling has been plaguing them for eons. I remember Ford Expeditions coming back 1-2 yrs old to the dealership with the back gate and hoods peeling. This was way back in 98-99, today I see much newer Expeditions/Navigators with the same problem so obviously they never fixed the issue.

How'd they get the paint to stick on the new F150's I wonder?
