The look works well on the Fusion but makes the Focus and now Escape look too plain. I get these companies like a corporate look but they need to adapt it onto models like Mazda does rather being lazy and simply slapping it.

Nice-looking SubaruFord Escape!

It's as plain-jane as the rest now.  Huzzah.  ::)

While it's great that the Escape now offers all these features, so, too, do most of its competitors in some way or another.  Auto stop-start is the only unique one, and I'm not sure anyone will care/want it.

nothing to see here LOL....just an update while Ford works on the '19 update.

I can see some attempts of making the back like a babe Explorer - but instead they ended up making it very Forester like. So a bit disappointing...

looks closer to its Ford Focus underpinnings now, IMO.

Meh - doesn't look bad.
Centre stack seems improved.  I think.  The interior design has always been the weak point for me.

The pointy nose never really worked for me. This is better, but not exactly mind blowing.

I wonder if there will be greater interior differentiation between North America and rest of the world platforms now. That new centre stack won't really work well/have space for a manual transmission, which is by far the most popular way the Kuga is equipped here in Europe. Currently the centre console is perfect for shifter/clutch/armrest relationship.

I like the current interior; may not look pretty but it's quite functional. Tasks can be completed efficiently and quickly while driving, which is the main point.

The stop/start works fine on my diesel version, I like it. I actually kind of find it irritating when automakers charge extra for the feature here in Europe, or leave it out altogether. About 70% market penetration is the statistic I believe.

What's wrong with putting the remote start on the key fob? GM figured this out - what a decade or more ago?
Hyundai offers a bluelink remote start - in the States only and it is subscription based. Pay an extra $99 a year = no thanks.
Will Ford's remote start be offered in Canada as well, and what will the subscription cost after the free period is over?

Looks like it's got the new infotainment interface.

I personally like the new face, not so much the rear end.

I wonder if the rear seats are still very thin and uncomfortable in the new version.

I like the pre-facelift design more. At least it was somewhat unique. Now it looks extremely plain. Front and rear. How about some news on the improved small overlap front crash test scores? That was a deal killer when I was shopping for the car last September.

I'm a bit confused. The old system was Microsoft SYNC. The new system is, I believe, Android based. Does Ford own the "SYNC" part of the nomenclature, and can therefore tack it on to a different system  ???

No the new system is from QNX (Blackberry) and is not Android base.

I like the slightly restyled exterior design. I always find strange that the Escape has a much better gauge cluster than the Edge, even after the Edge was updated. Ford had adopted a corporate strategy for the front end design but it should do the same with the Ford instrument clusters because they are all over the map currently  (and not emulate the Edge/Fusion for God's sakes).

So, not bad looking, decent interior, damn near 250 hp  ;D , awd...........seems like a winner to me. This pushbutton e-brake thing is absolutely atrocious, stop, please, you are over complicating something for no reason.

We have a 2015 loaner this week with an e-brake. The e-brake comes on every time the car is put in park but does not go off when you shift in any gear. This is very annoying; why didn't Chrysler program it so it stays on if you choose to apply until you release it and it comes on and off as the gear selector is moved??

I never thought that the old Focus/Escape front end looked that good. We seem to be getting a lot of positive reaction to the new Edge styling so this one will probably be more popular too.

The one feature of the interior that I really dislike is that the touchscreen is deeply inset in that binnacle. From the driver's seat I can't see the bottom left corner and I find it very awkward touching the lower portion of the screen. The newer interiors like the Edge and the Linclon MKC have a flush screen which is much better to use.

And as far as the parking brake, meh, I bet the vast majority of auto-equipped CUV drivers have never used their park brake, ever.
