It’s also the best combined fuel economy of the four minivans, just slightly better than the Honda.

False.  Nrcan rates the Odyssey at 12.3 L/100km city, 8.5 L/100km highway, 10.6 combined.

The TC is 14.1/9.5/12.0.  The GC is slightly better at 13.7/9.4/11.8.

Honda's Odyssey has the best fuel economy rating out of all the minivans.

I have achieved 7.9 on a recent highway trip in my 2014 Odyssey.

Summer 2014, I had the van loaded with people and cargo and achieved high 8s/low 9s with lots of AC use and driving in the Rockies.

$32,XXX is a screaming deal....when we picked up our 'loaded' 2006 Mazda MPV GT in 2007 brand new it was about $30,000 with some end-of-model year discounts (was the last year of the MPV here).

Amazing how far we've come in technology and power.  I was excited by a 200 HP V-6, power sliding side-doors, leather and a massive sunroof.  This Town & Country is like a rolling Best-Buy lounge.

Fortune favours the bold!

You can get them at that price?  Cash only?  or Financing too?

Just quoting from the article, actually.....tooscoops likely will chime in shortly on this article.

I rented a loaded T&C when I was in Florida about 2 years ago and it was a great, comfortable ride. Interesting experiencing the Pentastar in an automotive application versus the way it works in my Wrangler :).

My friends have the Town and Country with the 4.0L, 2011 maybe?

I am sure the first few years are great.  Its when the past 150-200k is what concerns me.  How much would I be spending for everything to be in working order?  How smooth is the ride...

I've known a few long term Caravan owners and they actually hold up incredibly well. Aside from frequent brake jobs, my Uncle has about 230k on his 2009 and it's running super, it still rides well with no rattles.

haha! donk upgrade? nice... still make it roll on 35's?

thanks for actually posting that there are huge incentives on these vans. at the msrp as you state, no way are these competitive... though it can be a little confusing the way you've stated prices... for a true "new" 2015, the incentives are 8000 pre tax rebate, 2500 after tax dvd rebate, then whatever can be discounted. so if the sticker on this one read 52 or whatever, don't expect it for 32... it would likely be 38+ or so. a used one (daily rental) would be around 32.

the 3.6 is solid... with regular maintenance (which isn't much), there is not reason these vans can't see the same kind of kms any other van can get. the difference is that after 7 years, no doubt there will be a few extra rattles and such on the GC compared to say the honda or toyota vans... that is where their age shows.

oh, and yeah, the discounted prices gets subvented finance rates. 0% available.

I am driving a 14 Grand Caravan R/T, yes they actually make one. According to the build sheet the R/T has specific anti roll bars, dampers and suspension bushings. The van drives really well with nice steering feel and a controlled ride. They are an amazing on road trips and quite good on fuel. 8 to 10L/100. It is like going down the road in a well controlled building.  :) The all city driving fuel economy is a bit eye watering though, 12 to 15l/100kms.

If you are looking for bang for the buck, order a Canada Value Package, rear heat and a/c, and add the trailer tow package even if you are not towing anything. Trailer tow gives you heavy duty cooling stuff plus Nivomat load leveling rear dampers.

If you are looking at one used, try and find a late 2012 on as there was a major brake upgrade that required the use of 17" wheels. If you are looking at a used 2012 and it has 16" wheels, the van does not have the brake upgrade.

The new "RU" van will start production in the new year with the current van continuing production through the 2017 model year.

Regarding durability, I have ridden in cabs with 600Kms on the original engine and transmission.

Thanks for the feedback everybody.

Nice that the 09 with over 200k is still going strong.  Hope the body lasts ok.

I have known two couples, with Caravans around the same age as my Odyssey where the bottom, all around the van is rusted out.  Doubt they could be certified.

The Town & Country comes standard with power sliding doors and lift gate, three zone automatic climate, etc. It's basically about a Grand Caravan Crew Plus.

I remember selling these new back in 99-2000, they were a great lease deal.  A loaded top line Gr Caravan/Voyager was about $6k cheaper on the sticker, but a T&C had a ridiculously high residual value, which made it a cheaper payment.....   Good ol days....

I see no features as a "feature".  Less stuff to break after warranty expires.
