Rented a 300S for a few days while in Calgary. Did quite a bit of highway driving with it as well. Strong V6 with capable 8-speed. Don't overlook that as an option vs. the Hemi.

Performance has more to do than just straight line acceleration...

Brendan did note that the car would break the rear free often and unexpectedly, and he did not have great things to say about the car's handling.  It was mentioned several times that it was a good highway cruiser, and that doesn't equate to good "performance" in the eyes of an automotive journalist (so I'm told, since I'm not one yet ;))

It's been a while since I've driven an Charger or 300, but I thought the ride/handling compromise was pretty good for a large car. The very long wheelbase makes them kind of cumbersome around town though.

RWD is always entertaining in low traction or high power applications.  ;D

Driving around town on rain-slicked pavement, the 300C broke the rear tires loose often and early. While that’s a little bit fun, I can imagine that it’d be a handful and a half with even a light dusting of snow on the ground.
...just quoting Brendan.

Oh come on, pulling up to the school to drop your kids off or into the parking lot at work leaning on the rev limiter on full oppo would be an amazingly good time!!!!

I don't see the problem, easy to be under 40km/h and still be full oppo on the limiter :D

yeah, i remember the 300 got the magnum treatment over there(or vice versa)... don't think they made it any longer than the magnum was made here though... could be wrong.

think it was only on the c package and called the touring model...

Never mind, I re-read the article, couldn't get it with the 6.1 SRT8 engine, you are right.

WHAT??!! Here in Calgary school zones are 30km. and run from 7:30 am to 9pm. They are about to make all school zones playground zones meaning all schools will be 30km. 7:30 am - 9 pm  seven days a week, 365 days a year. Someone's idea of keeping us all safe...

I love Chrysler's U Connect system. It's just a shame you have to wrap it in a Chrysler  ::)
