Thanks all!

Service manager was pushing hard on the "Sym-Tech" rust control module.
What you guys think....  :P
We have it in the Corolla - well, it doesn't have any rust...

Best part was the price.  $ 2,499   :o
But that included paint and upholstery protection.

I declined, by the way...
F*CK ME!  We got a hella good deal - the 'deal of the day' was a free 4-year ECP, valued at $1,049.  If we upgraded to 84 months, which was $1,599 (i.e. $550 more), it was 1/2 price off the module (normally $599) and they'd throw in free maintenance for 3 years.  So for $300 + $550, we got free maintenance for 3 years and a 7-year warranty (that we've used as described in the FJC thread).

...the inclusion of the rust module made not a shred of a difference in that expenditure :P

Good call on declining. That :censor: is borderline fraud.

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Very nice wheels weels!  Congrats!

The wee grey roadster is home.  The thing is just huge fun to drive.
Had the top down for most of the afternoon yesterday and today, was a bit cool (around + 4) but the heater breathes fire if you want it, and the butt warmers are there too.
And fack... why didn't i buy a car with a manual transmission sooner?   ::)   Anyway.. i gots one now and it's a sweet one.
Awesome weekend.. weather a bit chilly, but sun is shining and roads are clear...  :drive:

Here's a few pictures from drive yesterday:

Top up

Topless

Interior:

One annoyance.. the Command knob has a button at top that is sensitive.  Resting your arm on the console to the left of the shifter results in you inadvertently pushing that button... frequently... Annoying.  Weird thing was this didn't happen on any of my two test drives or the 15-20 minute drive i had at dealer last week.  I'm hoping it was because of my fairly heavy leather coat I was wearing this weekend.

Managed to put on about 240 km's over the weekend.  If the onboard computer is accurate, the mileage is amazing.  It is showing 7.9 l/100; on a green engine, and me driving 'enthusiastically'.  I've limited myself to around 4,500-5,000 rpm's for the break-in, but i haven't babied it.  Pretty great f/e.

Also need to give it a proper detailing... f'ing dealers are useless. There's a lot of swirl marks visible, so assume they just quickly washed it and then sprayed it down with a quick detailer.  That will have to wait for it to warm up though.

And a great weekend it was despite still being a little cool.

That "Highway to Nowhere" sign looks familiar...think I've ridden past it a few times.

Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach the man to fish and he wakes you up at 5 in the morning.
