7.8 l/100km among the mean streets of Gatineau with my 2015 CRV  (but the engine has about 17000 km already)!
...and is short by 60hp and gobs of torques.

..."Official ratings are set at 11.4 L/100 km in the city and 8.4 L/100 km on the highway; I suppose it might be possible to hit these figures under ideal conditions, but start dipping into the boost for on-ramps, in-traffic shunting, climbing hills, and just general everyday use, and consumption quickly climbs. Over the course of the week, I averaged 12.5 L/100 km or so, about 10 percent worse than suggested mixed-mileage."...

By my calculation official mixed mileage should be right around 10 L/100 km, so at 12.5 you did 25% worse than suggested mixed mileage not 10.

Must be that VW cheating. ;) ;)

Ford ecoboost engines never do well in fuel efficiency when compared to car in their class.  Even on autos.ca, when you read the comparos they always use more fuel.

They do ok on Fuelly.

Yeah, because POWAAAAAA and boost = foot to the floor. I've driven an F150 and an Escape with the Ecoboost...they are fun to drive at WOT.
Lighten up Francis.....

lol...yea, a buddy of mine bought an F-150 with the EcoBoost 3.5L because he loved the power in it...when i asked him about fuel economy, he mentioned low 20s..."that's pretty good" i said...with a puzzled look on his face, he then said, "L/100 kms, not MPG"...to which i replied "Oh...um, ouch"...like anything, i'm sure if you're easy on the pedal, it isn't too bad (relatively), but it's pretty tough resisting burying that pedal with all that power.

Is the steering wheel slightly offset to the right in the Escape, so not centered to the seat?

We downsized from an '04 Murano to a 2013 Escape Titanium. The day after we signed for our Escape we found out we were prego! For having 2 kids, one which requires a stroller and car seat it now feels a bit cramped in the car. The stroller we bought barely barely fits lengthwise from seat to hatch and takes a push to close the hatch. When it's in perpendicular it awkwardly takes a lot of the storage space.

The fuel mileage is not stellar, and the hand brake area could've been used for more storage space which I find sorely lacking. Despite all those negatives I still like the vehicle and find it to be a pretty solid little vehicle that does well in sunshine, snow, ice, and rain. We're currently eyeing 7 or 8 passenger SUV's but will probably stick with the Escape as car seats and strollers aren't forever.
