was Toyota fined $1.2 Billion?

was GM fined $900 million, or did they settle for $900 million.

big difference depending on the context.

Not odd at all.  The fix is in.  Many of us knew this from day one of the whole UA myth.

They are paying another 575m for the civil law suit have put 600m in the victim fund paid 40m for another case related to this. In addition they spent $4.1 billion on the recall.

Hopefully they will pay more attention to QA in the future to avoid a repeat.



Toyota still got screwed as I have one of the cars that was a part of the recall and atleast in my model it was never a defect

IIRC, the UA claims were indeed related to floor mats, at least at first, hence the floor mat recall.

If you cannot take care of your floor mats you should not be driving

Remembering a bit about the Toyota recalls...I just can't shake off the incident with a police patrol driving a Lexus couldn't shift the car to Neutral....
