About time for a redesign. It is looking oh so dated now.

I agree that this looks dated even after the 'changes', but I'm more interested in the competitor's list.

Competitors:
Acura MDX
Audi Q7 3.0 TFSI
BMW X5 xDrive35i
Mercedes-Benz ML400/ML550
Land Rover Range Rover Sport
This doesn't seem like a true Porsche in terms of exclusivity.  Maybe I have it wrong, but I always thought of Porsche as 'above' BMW, Audi, and MB - all of which are a step above Acura.  Or at least such is my perception.

...but I do agree that list is a good representation of this thing's competitors.

Shouldn't the Cayenne S compete with vehicles with similar power? I'd say a better list would be:

BMW X5 xdrive 50i
Mercedes Benz ML550
Land Rover Range Rover Sport (Supercharged?)

I know someone who was interested in a Cayenne GTS and ended up buying a X6 50i. He would have never considered anything with less power.

The days of Porsche being a boutique sports car maker are long gone. They're just a marketing exercise of the VAG conglomerate now.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

I don't mind the dichotomy within one brand (the serious cars, and those that are intended just to sell in numbers)

There was no reason to do it other than hawking rebadged Audis to rubes. Long term, this will dilute the brand.

Oh c'mon, you can't say it's a mere rebadge.
