V8 over V6 every time....

Except that the B8 s4 is faster than the b7 s4, while consuming 20% less fuel. Has a flatter torque curve too.  V8 sounds great though.

The E63 and S4 aren't even in the same ballpark price-wise.  Would it be revelation if I told you that my C4S was better than my S2000?   As a former owner of a 2010 S4, it was a throughly enjoyable and engaging ride and for 52,500 new it was a performance bargain.

True.

The C63 is the closer competitor.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

  V8 sounds great though.

Worth owning for that reason alone.  Audi V8 sounds stunning on full boil.  Something their V6s can never match.

Exactly why my friend opted for the V8 S5 over the supercharged V6 S5.

The C63 is the closer one very worthy competitor.

If you're shopping autoboxes, I'd go for the C63.  People like to think of the MB brand as fielding the "sedate" offering in their respective classes, but no one told the crew at AMG about that.  C63 is one rowdy beast - even sounding like a DTM car.
