Used Vehicle Review: Audi S4, 2010-2015
« on: September 17, 2015, 06:25:36 am »

Audi's supercharged rocket sedan loved for discreet upgrades and confident performance, but be sure newer used copes still have a warranty.

I am surprised no one has made any comments yet about this review.

Quote
Basically, the ECU has an integrated function that counts how many times it’s been reprogrammed, and so do Audi dealers. If the numbers don’t jive, the dealer knows the S4 in question has been re-flashed with non-Audi software, and the vehicle’s VIN number gets ‘marked’ or ‘flagged’.

Probably one of the more insightful recommendation ever provided in any used car reviews. Thanks Justin. Heck you would think Sube would be all over this feature as well and perhaps they do?

All in all the S4 seems to be a great second hand performance car to get. Unfortunately here in Mtl Certified ones are rare and overpriced.

Great timing for this article for me: I'm about to sell my 2010 S4, and will emphasize that there have been no ECU modifications. It's been a great car.

IMO, the greatest S4 was likely the B7 version.  That V8 had one of the sweetest sounding exhaust notes of any sedan, ever.

That and you could get the S4 Avant in the B7.

To this day I regret not stepping up to the S4 version of my wagon.

A buddy of mine had a 2013 S4, or was it a 2012, regardless, the car was beautiful to look at, beautiful to sit in but he said it was about as exciting to drive as watching golf, he got rid of it and picked up a E63 AMG....which is insane.
Lighten up Francis.....

He got the auto because he did not want to wait the month they said it would take for him to get one......I told him to hold off to get the car he wants but he wanted it like yesterday.

Odd I would have thought the S4 to be more engaging than the E63.

The exhaust note and thrust of the E63 is just hypnotic....the S4 was fast-ish, but not enough to really call home about. I never had the opportunity to take either on a curvy road, but between the two, the S4 was nothing special.

I have actually driven both and they great cars but to say the S4 is like watching golf is ignorant of the facts.

Compared to the E63 it is, its softer, quieter and has no soul....sorry...to me, thats boring.

Did you drive them, or just listen to one of the many buddies who always drive all the cars we are talking about?

In a straight line, probably.  But through curves, I'm sure it would be different.

I actually drove them....the E63 is just amazing, S4, meh, fair to middling. Again, these are on straight roads, maybe in curves the displacement of the E class might hamper it, but in a straight line, wow the Merc moves.

The E63 and S4 aren't even in the same ballpark price-wise.  Would it be revelation if I told you that my C4S was better than my S2000?   As a former owner of a 2010 S4, it was a throughly enjoyable and engaging ride and for 52,500 new it was a performance bargain.
