Wow.  That thing is beautiful.  I'm not sure of the immense space taken up by the drive selector (serious, was a standard shifter too much to ask for?) though. But otherwise I can't see anything

At $49K for the diesel, it's obviously meant as a shot right across the bow of Mercedes' GLC which (from what I read) doesn't have a firm ETA for their diesel model.

Also

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

If Jaguar keeps the starting base price under $50,000 and will have an option of a diesel (that's available in a base model, unlike Jeep Grand Cherokee...) I think that they should be quite successful in the sales department.  To me this SUV is very good looking and it should steal some sales from Lexus RX, Audi Q5, Mercedes GLC, etc...

Agree <50K will get it in the mainstream market. With the huge brand cache that it has and with a lease option = warranty period this will sell like hot cakes and should increase Jaguar's profitability

Nice! Looking forward to a review...

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

This was inevitable...from a sales standpoint Jaguar would be nuts to not make a CUV.

Hard to tell from those photos but the dash/centre stack design appears pretty uninspired.

They said ages ago that they would never make one... Then they saw how much profit Porsche was making.

Personally I think the exterior looks better than the Porsche range, I think Porsche beats it on the interior, but that's just me.
