Definitely stands out compared to the current design.  I like the direction they are going.

Wow that looks awesome! I'm not digging the Acura-like beak, but the rest of the Civic's styling makes up for it.  I'm looking forward to the official unveil.

Definitely looks good, albeit potentially really large for the class.

Yeah too large, just call it an accord. Like the styling though.
Wonder if it will have the two tier digital dash that everyone dislikes.
I have gotten used to mine and have no issues with it.

I really like the two tier dash. I wish it went all digital like some of the 80s Pontiacs. But I am crazy that way. ;D

Based on the design of the rear end - I'm wondering if this is the hatchback version that is supposed to return to our market.

Very sharp!  I could definitely see myself in an SI version of this.

Looks larger - but I hope the dimensions are actually about the same.

A lot of people in QC complain on the huge size increases of Civic and other C-segment cars like the Mazda3. That's the main complaint I hear from current Civic owners : "My car is too  big".

The new design looks very good from some angles, but the Crosstour profile is awkward. The hatchback will probably be the Euro version, not this - this is the sedan. Wonder if that's a mail-slot trunk in the back, like my '95 sedan had? I could only find one pic on Google, but the trunk opening was mostly vertical.

It's a bit of a shame they didn't make it a full lift back. Looks great otherwise.

Looks EXACTLY like the Mazda 6.  Now if you like the Mazda 6 then that's a good thing, but if you like small 'nimble' cars, then go get yourself a Hyundai Accent instead because Honda is getting out of the small car segment (other than the FIT, which itself will be made much larger in the next generation), its not profitable enough for them to make small cars for North America anymore.

I myself like the new 2017 Mazda2 hatchback, to me that's a perfect little toy for the city streets;  short for easy parking,  efficient automatic that gets better mileage than even the manual, and a nice hatch to put in larger things that won't fit into a conventional trunk.

As an owner of a current generation Civic, I'm not sure if I like the new one. I suppose by being less angular, it is certainly more mainstream. Judging by other comments - some from folks who aren't fans of the current car - it does seem to be successful. I kinda liked the wedge shape though. This one seems a little less athletic to my eyes. Especially at the back while the tail lamps seem to be 10% too big for the car.

In terms of size, it doesn't look much bigger than my car. Certainly the hood and trunk are both taller. More room upfront for the turbocharger perhaps? Safety is likely at play with that as well. The trunk will also be bigger.

On the issue of size creep of the Civic - doesn't this issue plague most cars? The MX-5 and Camaro are the exceptions that prove the rule. I don't think the Civic will be any bigger than the Elantra or Corolla.

... but if you like small 'nimble' cars, then go get yourself a Hyundai Accent instead because Honda is getting out of the small car segment (other than the FIT, which itself will be made much larger in the next generation)

I myself like the new 2017 Mazda2 hatchback...

The Fit - which is the new generation car - competes with the Mazda2 and Accent. Dismissing the Fit doesn't make any sense.

The Civic competes with the Elantra and Mazda3. Both of which are around the same size as this car.... Not sure what you are complaining about.
