Explorer Platinum for the win ... the engine alone would sway me to the Ford.

Same.  GM really needs to do a significant revision here.

Way too far into Tahoe range to even consider it.

Not for people who need interior space but don't need towing capacity and a V8.

No kidding, couldn't believe THIS costs $3000 more than that loaded up Platinum.  And if I recall, the center seats in these things are designed for midgets, seat cushions your 9 yr old will hate they're so short.  Maybe if they put the ATS-V's TT6 in it...and still put in human size middle row seats.

I bought a 2009 Acadia SLT-2 for my Wife. It's a nice solid vehicle, most importantly she loves it. We get average on 9-10/L/100km, that with all the kids on board (and I have six of those) The biggest is my 16yr old, at 5'11 he finds no issues with the center seat. I find it a very comfy distance cruiser. Mine has 67,000 kms and no issues thus far (for me or the p/o)

I do agree with a few things said here. It needs a redesign, it dates back to 2007, so yeah, its time (although it hardly 'looks' dated) What surprises me is that the Acadia, Traverse, and Enclave continue to post sales increases. It needs more power imo though the Wife finds it great. A twin snail V6 would work nicely!

We've kept our Yukon XL. For me, the extra few l/100 km is worth having the extra solid feel and V8 power. Plus all the extra room and a real 4wd system. The Wife hates parking the Yukon and finds it clumsy in city driving. She wanted something smaller for running errands, going into town, and short trips. The three things She wanted were- 1- AWD 2- DVD for the kids 3- Not a minivan. The Acadia checks all the boxes we need and is a great family hauler, it's a very versatile/roomy CUV

But you also get a real 4x4 system, a much better engine, the second row buckets are amazingly comfortable and there is very little in the way of a mileage penalty......honestly, for me, the Tahoe is the clear winner.

Saw some of the new (14,15) Yukon, Yukon XL's on the weekend, and with the redesign they have gone from merely big to enormous square things. The previous gen seemed a much tidier design. Could see why some would prefer the Acadia now.

I agree that the Explorer is a much more compelling vehicle than this one.

Sure, this recently introduced hotspot capability will cost an additional $10-$15 per month for Canadian customers, but there’s no necessity to pay that cost on a continuous basis.

IF you are already subscribed to OnStar (a separate cost), 200mb will cost you $10.  If not, then $15.  With OnStar, and $20, you'd get 1gb.

Prices are much higher than they should be...it's like paying for a whole separate cellphone...who needs it?!

I'm quite the opposite. I found the old design sorta goofy looking in the front and plain jane from the sides.  The new Yukons look fantastic to me.

:iagree: Very much so!!! Keep seeing more on the road and I think they look great. So much better than the standardized bulbous shapes that is every SUV out there.

I'm with PJ. As far as looks go, I still prefer the last gen. The new ones seem overstyled and flashy. In a giant SUV, I just want something functional and decent looking - I don't need it to scream "Look at me!!!"

"Its Cadillac-sourced 3.6L engine offers a responsive yet refined 288 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque,"

Cadillac-sourced? It's the previous (older) LLT V6, which has been replaced by the LFX V6  GM shoves in the Colorado while skimping there on the "refined" sound-deadening kit, and also into everything else that moves, Impala, Equinox, a Buick or two, oh and Cadillacs up through 2015s, etc. Only GM would tout the oldest of the V6's they make as Cadillac-sourced! Shakes head wearily.

The LFX engine is also gradually being replaced by the LGX with an extra 70 cc or ml, which was announced in March this year, and goes into the new Camaro and 2016 Cadillacs. No doubt soon to be found under the hood of everything else that has wheels besides the full size SUVs and pickups. As an example of GM speak, the old 3.57 litre LLT/LFX rounds up to 3.6, while the new 3.64 litre LGX rounds down to 3.6. Bureaucracy and double-speak, just like government

$60K for an old design with an old engine. "But it's a Den-ahhli, madam. Professional Grade."

How else would they round it off? Or do you expect them to use two decimal places?

Lol. You need to find a meme for Waterlooresident.  Especially when he brings up an old thread with a crazy, dramatic response.  Lol.
