I still don't get it. I've seen the car in person enough, and find it looks better in the tin than in pictures, flattering or otherwise.
It's got some heritage to the design, but it's not overtly retro. I find the Camaro to be bluff-browed while the front of the Mustang is sleek in comparison without going to the extreme of something like the BRZ, which wouldn't work on a pony car like the Mustang.
On cars like the old Superbird, it was obvious that the nose-cone was an afterthought. I'm not seeing the issue with the Mustang.
