I don't care that one is 'available.'  It should be standard.  Why the hell would I pay $290, plus installation, for a facking arm rest?   >:(

As long as it is available at a reasonable cost, I am fine with that. My Yaris does not have a telescoping steering wheel and I would probably not buy another car that doesn't. Driving the Yaris long distances gets on my nerves, I can't find a position where either my arms don't tire or my legs are too close...

Our Buick Encore, now returned off lease, had a single armrest for the driver only. I thought it was a perfect setup for the driver and nicely padded for 8 hour days in the saddle, fellow owners and prospective buyers on the buickforums thought it was a no-go. Having sat in the passenger seat thereb is no problem sharing and being able to reach the armrest with the driver. Mostly because of it's length combined with the passenger's seat usually sets further back than does the driver's seat it works out perfectly!

So you'll buy a worse product out of spite?  ;D
Absolutely.  100%.

...and now to address that you think that the Juke/CX-3 are superior products... ::)

The question is why the hell you would pass on a vehicle you otherwise fully intend to purchase for want of a $290 accessory that even the most pathetic wimp should be able to negotiate as part of the deal?  Or is this nothing more than an attention-seeking hissy fit tantrum?  Both are rhetorical questions, by the way.
Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

Maybe it's just one more excuse for him not to buy a vehicle at all.  ;)

Beat me to it!

It's like a la carte pricing on the airlines.  Sure it sucks that you have to pay more for something you think would be included in the price.  But if it keeps the base price lower, and gives you the option to "upgrade", how is that unfair?  OTOH, would you be happier if they made the armrest standard but increased the MSRP on the Juke by $250?  What about the consumer that strictly wants the lowest price, but doesn't care about an armrest?

It's a different story for equipment that can't be easily added/modified later (i.e., transmisison), but a bolt-on armrest is a dealbreaker?

I am 100% for a la carte option when it comes to cars. It should be like when you ordered a muscle car,454 big block V8 with a big 4 barrel carb, 4 spd manual, low geared and locked rear diff and heavy duty suspension with no other niceties please.
Lighten up Francis.....

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Too bad most of the mindless sheep that are the majority of the car buying public are more concerned about bluetooth, armrests touchscreens and automatic wipers then they are about the actual things that make the car stop, turn and go.  :( That Chevelle is all shades of awesome!!!!

It's too bad Ford wouldn't bring back the Mustang LX. All the good bits, and none of the fluff. Great bargain too.

The problem is there is far too much safety and soundproofing crap that has to be included to make a cheap car available.

The Evoque is overstyled and the BMW came from the school of gelatinous, shapeless blobs design school. The Juke is at least unique.
